The Standard Monotheist definition: god is a being that is
1. Omnipotent - all powerful
2. Omniscience - all knowing
3. Omnibenevolent - all good

Give up any of these attributes and it's not god you are talking about. For example, if Satan was all powerful and all knowing, but still evil, would you worship him?

The Free Will Defense

If god cannot both give us free will and prevent evil, then he is not omnipotent. To be constrained in what you can do by mathematics, the laws of nature, or logical consistency is, by definition, a severe and absolute limitation on power and thus contradicts omnipotence. Your god would be no more than any technological advance, natural creature.

It's called morality. Furthermore, a person being condemned to hell for rejecting god would mean that god is in no way omnibenevolent. Even I have higher moral standards.

Good cannot exist without evil

Yes, a thing is held together by its opposite. However, this means that
1. God cannot be omnipotent because he is subject to constraints he has no control over. He cannot end evil.
2. God cannot be omnibenevolent because even before god created anything, he existed, and if he was good, he would also have to be evil since good cannot exist without evil.

Soul-Making Theodicy

Again, this discredits god as an omnipotent being by placing severe constraints upon what he can and cannot do. Also, it eliminates the possibility of god being omnibenevolent since he must do some evil to achieve his goals. Finally, the failure of some people like Hitler to become good persons is a failure then of god and his strategy.
