Those grills look terrible but I guess that was your point
nope just a funny pic.
downtown phx is the PLACE. it's rockin. Theyre moving something like 50,000 new residents in this year. You'll be hearing it on TardNews AFTER all the land is bought up.
Saw quite a bit of construction in Scottsdale this past December
its nothing compared to DT Phx. They just built a huge law school and continually expand. No one wants these suburban homes. Why when you can live in a comfy apartment, everything accessible by light rail. Most shopping in walking distance.
Lemme get the views of 2nd and 3rd generation banksters and average out the results...
Downtown Phoenix condo market ready to rocket
People seem to enjoy living in fashionable well-designed cities lately. Once you can clear out the ghetto trash, and keep the homeless elsewhere, cities are where it's at! Location, location, right?
Arizona? What's their economy, selling sand to Arabs?
nope selling land to californians who want to avoid taxes

whats the advantage to suburbs?
they are actually in the process of relocating the homeless shelter in DTPhx, I think they are waiting until they buy out all the land because once it's moved the value of some properties will become obvious.
Anyone who spends one June, July or August in Phoenix will realize it's literally unfit for human habitation.
I've been from Bullhead City to Lake Havasu to Tucson to Kingston to Phoenix and everywhere in between, and even when I was in my 20s, they can take 115 and 120 degree days and shove them up their ass no matter how "dry" a heat it is.

june or july are pretty nasty granted. Good time to take a trip with the $100,000 you saved by not living in Commiefornia.
all Californians ever do is work and look at the beach from their awesome beachfront property. its the biggest joke culture in the world.

Heard ASU has pretty solid law school, is it affiliated with that?

Not surprisingly, I saw more Californians out there than Atlanta where there is quite a significant contingent

I like that for sure. This is trend inside I-285 in Atlanta but Phoenix has much better infrastructure and far less traffic, not to mention it is a growth market.
My only concern with downtown Phoenix is schools; otherwise it sounds pretty cool
Despite the conservative politics of the place, I haven't seen too many places focused on wellness, prevention and resorts outside of California.
Overall a solid place and an area I'm strongly considering settling down long term.

People like what they like but I personally like hills and mountain views more than the beach.

they just finished the new ASU law building downtown

mostly people dumping in the high tax states and moving here
this is what you dont understand. For California(the most expensive RE market in in the country perhaps the world), they have to dream up buyers. You dont have to fantasize about buyers in Phoenix, you just need to make this place comfortable enough for the people to ditch the overpriced and move here and it's happening.
Arizona has a state income tax. Though, not as high as California.
Water disaster laws have been triggered due to continuous reduction in lake mead, and AZ will have to come up with a water limiting plan by 2017.
what did I say years ago about Downtown Phoenix on this board?
I'm there right now, there are at least a dozen huge housing projects being built as I type this.
