Back in the olden days, I used to routinely (as did we all, I thought), telnet into mail servers and send emails from : to test them out.
I suppose all recipients ever can now be subpoenaed!

I know this is true, because faking emails is just so very, very difficult.
Plus, email leakers are honorable to a man and would never do that.
