" “The alt-right is a segment of right-wing ideologies presented as an alternative to mainstream conservatism in the politics of the United States. The alt-right has been described as a movement unified by support for Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump, as well as opposition to multiculturalism and immigration.â€
The alt-right has no official ideology, but various sources have described it as a loosely-defined conservative movement that is associated with white nationalism, white supremacist, antisemitism, right-wing populism, nativism, and the neoreactionary movement.
The Alt-Right has been said to be a largely online movement with internet memes widely used to advance or express its beliefs, often on websites such as 4chan. "
" In many ways, the “alt-right†is a rebranding of classic white nationalism for the 21st century. As BuzzFeed described the movement: “In short, it’s white supremacy perfectly tailored for our times: 4chan-esque racist rhetoric combined with a tinge of Silicon Valley–flavored philosophizing, all riding on the coattails of the Trump boom.â€
The “alt-right†opposes diversity and immigration, arguing that those policies are a form of “white genocide.†It embraces racism, sexism, anti-Muslim bigotry, and anti-Semitism, and sees its goal as usurping the traditional conservative movement, which it views as feckless and weak, in favor of a brand of nationalism.
With the ascension of Trump, the “alt-right’s†chosen candidate, the nominee of the Republican Party, its mission is all but accomplished."
"They are basically people who believe they can use the modern tools of social and alternative media to achieve a set of goals that are explicitly anti-Democratic and anti-Republican and fundamentally at odds with a pluralistic society. What they're looking for is a white ethno-state, and they know they can't go and expose a public face to it."
The alt-right movement first emerged under that title in 2008, when paleoconservative writer Paul Gottfried wrote of the "alternative right." Richard Spencer, a white nationalist, came up with the shortened "alt-right" in 2010, describing the movement as "an ideology around identity, European identity," in an interview with The New Yorker.
The movement is full of white nationalists, reactionaries, men's rights activists, and Gamergaters. And the rise of Trump, who at times has retweeted their viral Twitter memes and accounts promoting alt-right initiatives, led to their subsequent transfer from fringe discussion to mainstream discourse.
Conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos, an editor at the website Breitbart, which caters to the alt-right movement, is one of the movement's more visible leaders. He has said many are drawn to the ideology not out of political reasons but because it "promises" a "challenge to social norms."
"The alt-right is home to pretty much any conspiracy theory that's ever been dreamed up. Trump and Breitbart News regularly traffic in them, from questioning President Barack Obama's citizenship ("birthers") to fantasizing about Clinton health problems (used to contrast a "weak" Clinton with a "strong" Trump). They travel a now-familiar path – from alt-right websites, to the front page of the Drudge Report and Breitbart News, and then to the mainstream and Trump's Twitter account or his political rallies.
No theory is really too far-fetched. Paul Ramsey, an alt-righter who creates YouTube videos as RamzPaul, in 2015 wondered aloud to BuzzFeed whether 6 million Jews really died in the Holocaust. "I believe it should be able to be discussed, let me put it that way," Ramsey told writer Rosie Gray. "And that's because – and it depends what you mean by the Holocaust. Do you mean that 6 million figure? You know that 6 million figure has been used many times before World War II, did you know that?"
And there are plenty of other articles everywhere if one wants to look around. These people pose an existential danger to united states for if they gain power, america as we know it will be destroyed. From psychological profile, they are very likely to pull off attacks like Brevik in Norway due to their opposition to "multiculturalism." Lets hope that FBI is watching them and stops them before they do something truly horrific. Those people are true enemies of freedom in every sense of the world. Take your "nationalism" and go to europe!
