Notably absent from the executive order:

Saudi Arabia
Pakistan

Looks like Trump has been bought and paid for by the Saudis already.

Really??

Didn't read your own link, did you??

......"The order also creates an “extreme vetting” process for any and all immigrants and visitors to the U.S. "

So you don't understand the difference between banned and extreme vetting? I would expect that.

Well I agree that SA and Pakistan should absolutely be on the list. And while I don't know how they came up the list, AT LEAST THERE IS A GODDAM LIST! Obama was just opening the doors for the terrorists!
This comparison is apples to a shit sandwich!

It's amazing--the Muslim countries notably absent from the list are all places where Trump has business dealings. Imagine that.

Green card holders included in Trump ban

This will cause a lot of hardship, unnecessarily. People will find themselves locked out while on business trips... I have a friend in this situation.

I do wonder if this isn't Trump trolling the Leftist media once again. Leaving out a few obvious terror hotspots makes for articles, and then he can say, "Well, ok! Since you asked, I'll ban them too!"

How wonderful if that were true. Our President uses foreign policy as a tool to troll the media. Next he'll execute some innocent people to get back at CNN.

We do need to remember who the real enemies are: CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, and Madonna.

Which countries would that be?

He left out Egypt, UAE, Saudi (possibly), Azerbaijan, Indonesia

If Europe doesn't take those banned, then it puts pressure on Saudi and other prosperous middle eastern countries to make a decision on them.

Hard vetting of afghanis, Pakistanis and saudis, means that far fewer will come through than before.

Will be interesting to see Saudi have to make decisions on what to do with refugees, since they won't be coming to US

Well if refugees from those countries funded by Saudi aren't coming, then its not exactly easy Street for saudis and emiratis

I hear he has plans to deport native Americans back to Kamchatka.

Even if Trump is only inadvertently trolling the press here, it's a very good thing to have the extremely close connection between Saudi and terrorism front and center in the public discussion.

Wouldn't it be better to have that discussion after he banned Saudis?

19   Patrick   @   2017 Jan 28, 10:31am

No, I like this because it points out the corrupting influence of the Saudi trillions on our political leaders.

1. Saudi and the Gulf states do not take in Syrian Refugees. They do allow guest workers, but they must come to a pre-arranged job, and ONLY Sunnis are admitted - no Druze, no Christians, and of course no Shi'a or Alawites. The Jihadi insurgents in Syria are... Sunni.

2. Iraqi refugees have been convicted of supporting Sunni Jihadi groups with money and arms smuggling.

2b. And for using IEDs against US troops, before migrating to the USA

3. Protecting LGBTQ, Minorities, Women and American Values generally:

In order to protect Americans, the United States must ensure that those admitted to this country do not bear hostile attitudes toward it and its founding principles. The United States cannot, and should not, admit those who do not support the Constitution, or those who would place violent ideologies over American law. In addition, the United States should not admit those who engage in acts of bigotry or hatred (including "honor" killings, other forms of violence against women, or the persecution of those who practice religions different from their own) or those who would oppress Americans of any race, gender, or sexual orientation.
