"The only thing I can't tolerate is intolerance"
So you're saying there's no intolerance in Sudan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, et al? At least a lot less relative to Europe and North America?
That is supreme ignorance.
There are indeed costs in accepting alien cultures into any society but you have to look at the whole picture, not just the costs.
What are the benefits?
There's a billion-plus muslims on this planet so we need to learn how to live with them and not denigrate them.
No, they need to learn to live with other people first, or even each other. If the entire world were under sharia law, Muslims would still be killing each other- Sunni v. Shiite.
There is hope that a lot of them will see just how truly intolerant and violent Islam is if we simply speak up and point it out. They never hear it in their home countries, so it's up to us.
A lot of them are horrified but can't speak out lest they be executed or tortured as heretics.
There's also an Inquisition factor, where they act excessively pious and fanatical to avoid charges of Shirk.
Notice how much people like Linda Sarsour have extra venom for ex-Muslims like Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Nawaz.
in fact, the Southern Poverty Law Center has Ayaan Hirsi Ali listed as a Radical Bigot, when she is now a Western Liberal married to noted (neo-)liberal Niall Fergusson for fuck's sake, darling of the Economist and all Atlanticists.
More evidence of the Left-Islamic Alliance.
Southern Poverty Law Center has Ayaan Hirsi Ali listed...
as an "anti-Muslim extremist," for stating facts and evidence-based opinions about Islam.
The SPLC puts a surprisingly negative spin on her biography, including her resignation from the Dutch parliament. She had obtained Dutch citizenship in 1992 by lying on her asylum application. She admitted that fact in 2002, along with renouncing Islam and declaring herself an atheist. She got elected to Parliament in 2003. After she became famous for criticizing Islam, Muslims began protesting, a film was made disparaging her, and she resigned from Parliament due to the issue of lying to obtain citizenship. SPLC says she resigned "in disgrace," but in fact she was never accused of doing anything else wrong, and she was ultimately allowed to keep her citizenship and residency permit. She moved to America largely due to multiple death threats from Muslims in the Netherlands, where Theo van Gogh had already been murdered by a Muslim for blasphemy, as per Islam.
IOW, the Netherlands allowed Muslims to become citizens, but deported effectively an atheist citizen, by importing so many Muslims that she could no longer live there safely.

Patrick's link below also explains why Swedes are stubbornly sticking to their demonstrably failed policies. Swedes are famous for their collectivel arrogance, by other Scandinavians as well:

To change their policy means they aren't correct, perfect and wonderful all of the time. Kinda like Coastal Professionals.
As a proud progressive, cultural-self-hating, male-feminist Swede, the word "multi-culturism" gives me an instant tolerancegasm. Seriously: rainbow colored milk will start dripping from my multi-racial nipples.
How does some lower class birmingham limey (or at least someone with a lower class birmingham limey accent) become an expert on sweden?
There are plenty of articles out there documenting swedens actual crime rate the last 30 years. But hey why look at actual numbers when you can just listen to the right wing echo chamber telling you what you want to hear. The whole no go zone has been totally debunked also.
It's true because I believe it should be true. The patnet mantra.
It's true because I believe it should be true.
That may be what you believe, but it's not how those of us with a functioning cortex do our reasoning!
"We don't have enough resources!" - Saddiq Khan, not long after bragging about London's multi-million pound "hate speech on social media" policing network.
Meanwhile, a radical who was featured on a television special on radicals and reported multiple times lead a rampage.

I would charge the government officials responsible to kicking this man out of his home with involuntary manslaughter. Then this shit would end damn fast.
Well, this turned out to be bullshit. Serves me right for giving a PatNeter the benefit of the doubt. This story is fake news. Even the picture is bullshit. That man did not freeze to death and was not a veteran or even Swedish.

You know, all this fake news is really starting to get tiresome. I only found this out because I took the time and effort to try to find more details about the story like how is it that a person is kicked out of his home to make way for refugees. I was thinking it must have been some government supplied housing that was re-purposed and they guy lost his standing for housing aid as a result. But no, it's just propaganda that has no basis in reality.
You know making up shit doesn't make your position look good.
I only found this out because I took the time and effort to try to find more details about the story [but] it's just propaganda that has no basis in reality.
Dan, you combine good information with bad, and lose the forest for the trees. I had looked up the story too, and found that the specific details were a composite: not literally true of one person, but using a composite character to tell a larger story.[update: see below, I read further and found the story might be literally true.] I liked your comment for the link, but then unliked because you said the story "has no basis in reality." It DOES have a basis in reality: NATO countries are paying to import and support Muslim immigrants, and paying for the crimes they commit (including terrorism, other homicides, vigilante sharia patrols, etc.), while their own populations include people who need help. Your link says the photo is a stock photo from Getty. The purpose of stock photos is to illustrate stories. You are right that the specific example is a composite and not a photo of a specific person who died that way, but the larger basis in reality is that homeless people are dying in the cold while their own governments are spending money to import hijrah. It's been happening every winter for years in northern climates.
As for Sweden, the Swedes are working hard, paying a lot of taxes, to import hijrah. They're paying invaders to take over their country. It's bizarre. It's as if a person put his children to sleep for the night, scoured the ghettos for burglars and arsonists, drove them to the house, invited them in, and then went to bed. I don't have a stock photo to illustrate that, but it's a fairly accurate metaphor.
It's true because I believe it should be true.
That may be what you believe, but it's not how those of us with a functioning cortex do our reasoning!
Those of us with a functioning cortex go and look up sweden's crime statistics instead of taking whatever the right wing echo chamber puts out as reasoning.
It DOES have a basis in reality: NATO countries are paying to import and support Muslim immigrants, and paying for the crimes they commit
I would call that a different story. It's dishonest to make up a story about a specific event that never happened and to claim that it is reality. There are more than enough real stories about Muslims committing horrible violence in Europe and the governments doing nothing to stop it. We don't need people to make shit up. This fake story was not presented as a parable or as a fictional example of real life events, but as an actual real life event. Details are important, and the details are false.
Truth comes first. Politics second.
It's dishonest to make up a story about a specific event that never happened and to claim that it is reality.
Your link says, "The closest we came was a March 2015 report about a veteran who froze to death in an Iowa woods shortly after visiting a VA hospital."
In a few minutes, I found a guy that age did freeze to death outside a hospital in Nynäshamn in 2016. The Swedish news site Avpixlat adds some of the background details described in the article (veteran, evicted from government housing to make way for migrants), possibly drawn from social media comments. Some call that site partisan and I can't verify those details, so they might be true or the sort of "color" that some less credible outlets add to sell a story. Sweden does have evictions and homeless, and Sweden is going out of its way to import migrants and give them housing.
You have created a whole thread for a video that uses a stock photo to illustrate an unrelated story, so it seems hypocritical of you to blame others for using a stock photo.
You might be right that they might have embellished their story with unverified color, but you have exaggerated by claiming it had no basis in reality.
A friend from Pakistan told me I had no idea what the Muslim world actually thought of America and Europe. The truth is, according to him, that it is seen mostly as a source of easy pussy and money.
He went on to say that any time someone mentioned "America" in Pakistan, the expected and always amusing response was to say "Dollar, dollar, pussy, pussy." Then both sides would laugh.
