My kids did just fine in public education but the inner city schools even with major investment continue to lose, look a Chicago and Rahm, what a shame. In the end Teachers unions only care about themselves, damn the kids I need my pension.

Tell them a Whig party joke, observe further confusion flashing into anger.
I am all for paying teachers more if they are qualified and we can easily get rid of the bad ones. The democrats seem to be ok with all these recent cases of teacher-student sex, as long as they don't lose their job they can waste away at the district admin building.

I am in California. As part of my biz I get visits from folks around the world. More than once they have commented how the roads here are 3rd world quality. Unions and pensions are going to kill many cities and states. Unwilling to claim bankruptcy for fear of cuts in unrealistic pensions.

Look at the solvency of democrat states vs republican states, what does that show? The more they spend the more likely they are blue states and on edge of failing. Let me tell you those charts are suspect to supposedly prove that republican states don't care about their people. Will be interesting to see a map after last election.
