This almost never happened. The witchhunts in Massachusetts were actually fueled by teenage and young women, and it was the old dour Patriarchs who put a stop to the hysteria and remade the rules of evidence banning dreams and prophecies as grounds to start a trial. The church changed. Permanent change (temporary change for deception is cool) is prohibited in Islam.

Also, we should look at the founders of the two religions:

Jesus didn't rob, rape, or kill anyone. In fact, he let himself be killed, according to the official Christian story.

Mohammed robbed caravans, raped the women after killing their male relatives, and slaughtered whole groups after their defeat. This is official Islamic history.

So Christians who do those things are being bad Christians, while Muslims who do those things are being good Muslims.

Let not your blind hatred blind you and you see a day of regret where their is no turning back.

Most religious people of kind heart just ignore the suggestions to commit atrocities suggested by their holy books (like stoning), and live by the metaphorical reinterpretations by the later sages that urge them to love their neighbor, fight a spiritual war for good within their own hearts, and let God sort out the infidels and heathens in the afterlife.

A sense of community and pride in one’s tradition is a stabilizing force. There are ex-patriot ethnic groups that happen to be Muslim, thinking of the Iranians in particular, with their own larger culture and history, and enrich the experience of living in America. The call to literal Jihad is the furthest thing from their mind. Mmmm koubideh and Persian cucumbers! I don’t know about you but I’m glad they set up shop close to my home.

A sense of community and pride in one’s tradition is a stabilizing force. There are ex-patriot ethnic groups that happen to be Muslim, thinking of the Iranians in particular, with their own larger culture and history, and enrich the experience of living in America. The call to literal Jihad is the furthest thing from their mind. Mmmm koubideh and Persian cucumbers! I don’t know about you but I’m glad they set up shop close to my home.
