If you're really asking, in order to make that into data, you'd need to be specific and detailed.

Sorry, I couldn't find the poll on WaPo, which would have made you happy.

BayArea says
I'm betting you are right, but your supporting evidence is weak.

OK, let's try this:

1/3 of the country owns guns, and we know also know almost 50% of the country owns dogs. Here is the latest report from the American Kennel Club (they're credible to you guys, I hope).

Labrador Retriever Is Most Popular Breed for 27th Year in a Row.

..."One thing, however, has remained the same. Since 1991, the Labrador Retriever has been the most popular dog in the nation, and with the statistics from 2017 in, the Lab continues his reign. The Lab has been top dog since 1991, when it beat out the gentle, smart, and happy Cocker Spaniel. In addition to being the most popular dog in the nation, the Lab is also the #1 dog in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Raleigh, Seattle, and Washington D.C.
http://www.akc.org/expert-advice/news/labrador-retriever-most-popular-breed-27th-year-row/

Here's the top ten list from the AKC:

Labrador retriever
German shepherd
Golden retriever
French bulldog
Bulldog
Beagle
Poodle
Rottweiler
Yorkshire Terrier
German shorthaired pointer

(BTW, Pit Bulls came in 82nd)

So, when I said this:

Sniper says
Most gun nuts have hunting type dogs, like Retrievers, which are extremely friendly.

How close to accurate was that, considering two of the top three on the AKC list were Retrievers? Yes, it's not a official NYT or WaPO survey (the only ones you believe), but it gives a pretty accurate representation. My statement about the "Gun Nuts" on the gun forums is very accurate, based on personal reporting.

How close and accurate was this statement?

HappyGilmore says
My guess is that there is a strong correlation between gun nut, NRA loving Trump supporters and pit bull owners.

Still believe that?

And regarding:

BayArea says
Anecdotal.

Speaking of ancedotal....

Guess what, I'm a "Gun Nut", and guess what breed of puppy I recently bought?

Imagine that, it's a Labrador Retriever.

Amazing, isn't it?

It's completely unknown. You have no data showing correlation between owning a gun and owning an retriever. (or a pit bull).

4-year-old boy mauled to death by family dog in northeast Bexar County.

A 4-year-old boy was mauled to death by the family dog in northeast Bexar County Sunday afternoon. A family friend is now pleading with the public to have compassion for the parents of 4-year-old Noah Trevino after Facebook users blamed the parents for his death.

A family member told us the dog was a Pit Bull mix and had been the family's pet for at least three years.

Yet, something set off Bam Bam Sunday afternoon at the family home on Twincreek Farm. The family told officers Noah was playing in the backyard with Bam Bam. They said when they checked on Noah, they found Bam Bam biting his neck.

Milwaukee woman mauled to death by at least one of her pet dogs.

A Milwaukee woman was found dead in her near west side home after being mauled to death by at least one of her pet dogs, according to the Milwaukee County medical examiner's office.

Hong Saengsamly, 49, was found by her son about 10 p.m. Saturday in the kitchen of her home in the 500 block of N. 28th St., according to a medical examiner's report.

Saengsamly suffered multiple puncture and blunt force injuries on her arms and shoulders and her death was due to "mauling by dogs," according to the report.

A pit bull-type dog that appeared to be guarding her body became hostile with the son before he fatally shot the animal, according to the report.

Grandmother mauled in Bronx pit bull attack speaks out.

Althea Woodson, who goes by Lisa, was watching her two young grandchildren at the Eastchester Gardens apartments when the large dog somehow got loose and pounced.

The 57-year-old suffered serious injuries to her hand and face, even losing part of her ear. She is now recovering at home.

"I have a gash, a gash here, a gash here," she said. "See where all the blood is?"

The physical pain is hard enough, but what truly overwhelms her is the the terror she felt as her grandkids played on a jungle gym and the dog lunged their way.

Eyewitness News obtained video of Woodson screaming on the bench after that dog grabbed her by the head and dragged her away.

"And it just kept coming and coming," she said. "And it won't go. It won't go nowhere, and it hurt so bad."

Pitbulls have an extremely high rate of attacks on humans.
Pitbull supporters say it's how you treat them and train them, that is the cause of the attacks.
My point...So why do we not have the same problem with other breeds?
Folks.....I love animals, pets, dogs, and pitbulls too. This beed has been bred to be a danger to us. Lets cut back on them, and promote other breeds.

Wow, a hugely irresponsible speculation followed by owning himself in the most embarrassing way.

Couldn’t you just admit that you know nothing at all whatsoever about the subject? Or maybe do some research? Good lord...

"Other residents described Perivoitos as a chaotic and disruptive neighbour. Several windows of his flat were boarded over and the order banning him from having visitors was taped to the front door.

“A lot of people were coming in there,” said a neighbour who gave his name as Pierre. “There would be fighting, sometimes shouting. A couple of times the police had to come. They even broke the door down.” "

The pit bull is usually an extension of their anti-social personalities, just like in this country.

"Another friend reportedly said that he had two master’s degrees, one in philosophy."

Somehow that doesn't much surprise me either.

I remember there was this comedian (forgot his name) who talked about stupidity of walking up to a wild animal that can eat you. I think his material was about "walking up to a bear, and then the bear gets shot by cops because it ate a stupid individual who went over to take a picture of it. naturally he was sad that they shot the bear.".

I have looked, but there isn't anything I could find showing demographics of pit bull owners.

@Patrick--this is also against the rules, but I appear to have lost my personal button again. It doesn't appear that mods actually want people to use it. Every time I rightly use it, the post is put back and I lose my button. I highly doubt anything will be done since I'm on the wrong team.

In my experience Chihuahuas are definitely more aggressive, although "stand-offish" is probably a better way to put it. Pit bulls are much friendlier. My brother-in-law has two that he raised from puppies, both sweat-hearts, although the mother is a different story. Although if he walked her, she would probably be better behaved.
Cool story, bro. But, the data regarding the danger of pit bulls clearly proves otherwise.

Really??

There's this new technology called Google, a search engine. Pretty amazing stuff, Try it out for FREE at Google.com

Look what comes up as the first search result:

Pit bull owners :
Not normal dog owners.
https://www.dogsbite.org/dangerous-dogs-pit-bull-owners.php

Or this one:
Psychological Characteristics Owners of Aggressive Dog Breeds
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/canine-corner/200903/psychological-characteristics-owners-aggressivedog-breeds

..."A total of 166 owners of high risk dogs were compared with 189 owners of low risk dogs. The high risk dog owners had nearly 10 times more criminal convictions than other dog owners. Breaking the data down by categories of criminal behavior they found that high risk dog owners were 6.8 times more likely to be convicted of an aggressive crime, 2.8 times more likely to have carried out a crime involving children, 2.4 times more likely to have perpetrated domestic violence, and 5.4 times more likely to have an alcohol related conviction when compared to low risk dog owners.

Imagine that (they must be Trump voters and NRA members)!

and another:

The Problem With People, Not Pit Bulls
The president of the American Pit Bull Foundation on why responsible dog ownership matters more than breed.
https://americanpitbullfoundation.com/problem-people-pit-bulls/

oh great, another one:

What we know about pit bull owners
...."Well, here goes: Studies have shown that owners of pit bulls are more likely to have criminal records and more likely to display antisocial behavior than owners of more common and less-vicious breeds.

The studies, published in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence and the Journal of Forensic Sciences, were titled “Ownership of High-Risk (Vicious) Dogs as a Marker for Deviant Behaviors” and “Vicious Dogs: The Antisocial Behaviors and Psychological Characteristics of Owners.”

Not sure if you know what the word demographics means.

I found several articles that say that pit bull owners are more aggressive, anti-social, and are more likely to have a criminal record. But nothing about race, Nothing about urban vs. rural. Nothing about income levels of owners.

Golden retrievers are interesting because their life span has about halved, they get cancer like crazy. I met a pit bull recently who was the kindest gentlest animal I have met in years. I have a neighbor with three small dogs, if I get near them, it's like vicious attack mode every single time.

Mother and son found dead at home in Hanover after mauling by dog.

A 52-year-old woman and her 27-year-old son have been found dead at their home in northern Germany after apparently being mauled by their Staffordshire terrier, police said Wednesday.

The pair were discovered at their flat in Hanover, capital of Lower Saxony, on Tuesday evening, after a relative saw the bloodied body of one of the victims through a window and rang the emergency services.

Firefighters were called in to capture the dog who was still inside the residence, Hanover police said in a statement.

Fire personnel broke down the door and caught the dog by using a sling.

"Initial examinations by a coroner suggest the 52-year-old woman and her 27-year-old son were killed by the dog," it read.
