It seems like North Korea's president would not back down as long as the US continues to show aggression. Tighter sanctions should be implemented. There be another nuclear test and that will be the sixth one. The thing is, the North Korean government announced that they would never stop their nuclear tests.
Any thoughts about this?

Short of a boots on the ground WWII type of total commitment invasion or a nuclear strike there is nothing that can be done to stop any country that really wants to be a nuclear power. Any country willing to devote the massive money and resources to making the materials while ignoring political pressure and sanctions cannot be stopped by any other means. The technology is well known for a long time and for a simple fission bomb not very hard to do technically. Developing the nuclear materials like plutonium and U 235 (plus lithium-deuteride for a much more technically difficult thermonuclear/hydrogen bomb) is the restriction.

That is the simple reality. Any politician that says different is lying. Like every president for the last 50 years.

No MOAB necessary. A few patriots armed with rifles can take down a tyrannical regime like the above. That's why we have the Second Amendment!

If they never stop the tests, that means none of the tests ever pass.

What's with North Korea is that the US is continually hurting them and harassing them and goading them into war. Just STOP already.

NK is China's proxy. This is the long and short of it. Any notion of NK playing any kind of independent game is idiotic.

BTW, before Iraq war Saddam's army was crowned as being "3rd most capable armed force in the world". Now, I guess, that title has found a new owner...

Drinking the official beverage from Washington are you now ? The press would have us believe we are in for a cake walk again much like that one we took in Iraq. New flash - this isn't Iraq, Kim isn't Saddam and these people will actually fight back to the death and not run and dump their uniforms.

That's what Aziz the foreign Minister of Saddam Hussein said. "This is not Panama, this is not Grenada. This is Iraq" The press at that time said the Iraqis are well dug in, and they will fight to the end. When the bombs fell, they all ran like hell, and would kiss the hands of the American soldiers. he he he.
North Korea is not likely to be any different. The soldiers love their lives more than they love the "crazy fat kid"

NK does not have the weapons and technology we possess. In todays world, the one with better technology wins the war. The question is how much damage can they to to us, not wether we can win the war.

You fail to understand or appreciate the hatred of several generations of Koreans against each other amongst many other things. This will be quite different than Iraq (not that that turned out well anyway). The Chinese will be involved in every conceivable way including troops on the ground and are not going to mill about smartly while we attempt yet one more round of nation building and bringing "democracy" to someone else. You can pretty much toss the Russians in there as well - they are not going to sit idly by and we can not get enough troops and equipment there fast enough.

The Chinese are not gonna go up against the US. We are more important to them than NK. Neither will the Russians. At best they will yell and scream and flex some muscles.

You are welcome to believe as you wish - I am in contact with people over their on a daily basis and can assure you while the neocons and neoliberals here are dying for a war - any war anywhere including Korea - they are not on board with the war, the unification of the peninsula, the whole 9 yards.

We don't want crazy dictators to get nuclear weapons. That's all.

As I mentioned earlier to Blue Sardine join me in October when I go over to South Korea. We can take a run up to the DMZ and taunt the North Korean guards and if we are really good, set off an international incident. Hell, we might even give the whack jobs here and excuse to start bombing if they haven't done so already.

Bonus would be we can say we were inspired from being on PatNet and think of all the publicity PatNet would get ! This forum would become an international sensation in no time.

Hey, take Goran's AK47 with you and shoot a couple of NK soldiers. That should fire things up.

They're a failed state who can't keep the lights on let alone assemble anything remotely useful. I fully expect to see Kim Jong-Un's head on a pike in my lifetime, and it won't have shit to do with the US.

"To take down a missile, the carrier would need to possess an Aegis surveillance system, experts told Bloomberg News Wednesday. It's not just the USS Carl Vinson that lacks that capability, but also South Korea and Japan’s largest battleships and the three other American warships "

So use the Aegis. Problem solved.

And to disable the Carl Vinson one or maybe two well placed torpedoes (the low tech cheap kind) into the rudders and propulsion system area and then we have a very yuuugely expensive sitting duck.

Doing this might be easy only if we're talking about Russian so-called "aircraft carrier" traveling with 5 Su on board (ooops, they recently lost 2 landing at sea, so make it 3 Su), a tugboat and nothing else. American AC's go about their business surrounded by Carrier Strike Group. It means that whoever is going after AC will need to go through one or two Aegis-class cruisers, two to three Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, up to two attack submarines not to mention the fucking carrier air wing. Good luck with your low tech cheap weaponry - you'll need a lot of it.

That is a very distinct probability however what comes next may be even harder to deal with and control and much like today we won't like that situation either.

Good thing it's not our country, or any of our business.

Not drinking anything I think it would be a bad idea, but if your going to mass a bunch of equipment and line them up like that on a beach nobody is impressed, its like they are 200 years behind in thinking about warfare.

or maybe not. The modern diesel/electric submarines like the song (which the chinese very well may have supplied to nk) and lada are pretty formidable weapons. http://nationalinterest.org/blog/the-buzz/could-sink-the-us-navy-lethal-stealth-submarines-15034

I agree with most of your opinion. Kim Jong-un is currently threatening that they could put up an annihilating strike. I think humanity would not be able to survive the war between two countries. A diplomatic solution is really urgently needed

North Korea does not have that capability yet. The idea is to destroy their capabilities before they achieve that.
