One of the three jihadists who murdered revellers in central London on Saturday had been reported to the anti-terror police on at least two occasions, it has been claimed.

A former friend of the terrorist, who was shot dead by police along with two accomplices, claimed he had been radicalised while watching YouTube videos and said he contacted the authorities ­after becoming concerned over his friend’s extremist views.

A neighbour also claimed she had contacted police in Barking, east London, after the suspect tried to convert her children to Islam and radicalise them. The man is not being named at the request of the police.

The former friend claimed he contacted police after comments the man made about other previous attacks. But he said the authorities had failed to act and take action despite evidence of increasingly extremist views.

The friend told the BBC’s Asian Network that the terrorist had been radicalised watching videos of the infamous American hate preacher Ahmad Musa Jibril.

I was poking through some of the Musa Jibril videos on YouTube, and saw links to videos entitled "we are not weak" and similar themes. The denial tells you something. The fear that they are indeed weak losers who have nothing but terrorism is indeed in their minds.

What they need is an alternative which gives them meaning and self-respect outside of Islam. What is that exactly? Christianity works for some. Capitalism is probably not it. Humanism is too abstract. Their families are all infected with the virus of Islam, which makes them want to re-infect or kill anyone who manages to cure themselves.

I almost feel sorry for Muslims. Their minds are trapped in the year 650 AD.

The best alternative is opposing Islam. Promoting blasphemy everywhere could make a huge difference for this reason among others. The best sites criticizing Islam tend to be written by people who grew up with that hateful fraud, because they can literally cite chapter and verse from memory. The problem is we're not even trying to help people get out from under the dead charlatan Mohamed. To the contrary, our own government is empowering and spreading arguably the worst form of his fraud, Salafi/Wahabi.

What happened to second/third Gen Germans, Japanese, and Italians in WW2?

People seen this happen so frequently that the only reaction is disappointment in governments inability and ineptitude to protect its citizens from Islamic terror.

Sad for the victims and their families, but that won't help them at this point.

What reaction are "Christian Conservatives" having to the attack? I'm not one, but from what I've seen on social media, there seems to be a lot of backlash against radical Islam, sympathy for the victims, and more calls for stricter travel entry guidelines.

From the Islamic side, I see a lot of apathy to be honest (I have muslim friends on Facebook who were posting non-stop about the Bernie supporter who stabbed people in Portland, but they quickly disappeared when the identities of the London attackers became public) with a scattered amount of actual support (because of Bush wars etc).

The reactions are nothing alike.

From outside of your religious wars, looking in, this is a disgusting attitude. People (Christian Conservatives) cheering on these attacks, because they believe it's scoring them political points. It's abhorrent behavior, which would be fine in a free society, but these people are going to demand that my country engages in another war that it has zero chance of winning.

Par for the course for Christian Conservatives. Demand that we wage perpetual wars where the only possible outcome is to be Failed Losers, that's what CC's are all about.
