Rep. Steve Scalise was shot Wednesday morning in Alexandria, Virginia, a House colleague told CNN, in what sources are calling an apparent "deliberate attack."

The shooting took place at a practice for the GOP congressional baseball team.
Scalise, a member of the House Republican leadership as the majority whip, appeared to have been shot in the hip and it appeared two Capitol Hill police agents were shot, according to Rep. Mo Brooks, who told CNN he was on deck when the shooting occurred.
According to both congressional and law enforcement sources, the shooting appears to be a "deliberate attack."

Democrats are expected to reverse position on gun ownership, support NRA, this morning...

2   CBOEtrader   2017 Jun 14, 6:27am

The left has gone violently insane.

3   Goran_K   2017 Jun 14, 6:41am

And people on the left were saying how Kathy Griffins decapitation "art" wasn't indicative of a violent undertone in the way Democrats view politics these days.

Hmmm.

4   HEY YOU   2017 Jun 14, 6:47am

Several points.
Stupid fucks don't have any info on the shooter,so they make stupid statements.
"Stupid is as stupid does."
Just heard there is no known motive or shooter's mental state.

The Second Amendment trumps Republican lives.
Americans have the right to guns ,guns,& more guns without infringement,
no matter how crazy they may be.

Why wasn't everyone on the field carrying their choice of belt fed?
Good guys would have a gun. More politicians' failure.

Just another example of,Be careful who you piss off or who is pissed off.
All the arguments are null & void & can't stop the violence.
We've been killing each other since Cain & Able or the time we crawled down from the trees.
Stick your value systems & opinions up your asses.

Shooters should be skinned alive. The blood dried in a bath of salt & the salt washed off with alcohol
& then impaling over a period of a week.
Probably won't stop shooters but will make them regret their actions.
Fuck it! America is a population of Snowflakes.

False flag by NRA & the gun lobby? Need to sell more guns?

5   Goran_K   2017 Jun 14, 6:53am

Leftist celebrating a play where Trump is assasinated, Kathy Griffins ISIS inspired anti trump art, and Tim Kaine saying democrats must resist and "fight in the streets."

Domestic terrorism is what this was, clearly. But instead of Wahhabism and Imams, you have CNN, NYT, WaPO, Elizabeth Warren and Tim Kaine.

Here's the funny thing radical democrats don't realize. The leftist/democrats cannot win this type of conflict. You guys are outgunned by a ratio of 7 to 1, the armed forces are comprised of individuals who vote and support conservatives 70/30, and most conservatives are far more skilled shooters than their leftist counterparts.

Democrats also have a horrid history of getting their asses kicked by Republicans in Civil Wars.

6   HEY YOU   2017 Jun 14, 6:54am

Now we will have to wait on Repeal,Replace,Trump wall,Currency manipulators,35% tariffs, good paying jobs in the Red States.
MAGA! We don't know when.

7   zzyzzx   2017 Jun 14, 7:19am

Another fine example of liberal "tolerance".

8   steverbeaver   2017 Jun 14, 7:31am

Fucking leftist loser couldn't even get one in a target rich environment. LOSERS! Hopefully this will result in republicans getting a backbone, that they finally start jailing motherfuckers for sedition and other crimes. Regarding the identity of the shooter, his identity isn't on every news page yet so Coulter's law, as I recall it is called, is predicting a lefty, darky, muzzy, or combination thereof. Maybe they already know but need time to photoshop his skin to be lighter, destroy some evidence, find a way to spin it, or find a picture of him from when he was 15.

9   FortWayne   2017 Jun 14, 7:33am

Despicable behavior. This is what liberal anti white and anti Republican rhetoric leads to.

Congratulations liberals, you get what you promote. Disgrace.

10   zzyzzx   2017 Jun 14, 7:45am

It will be interesting to see if the shooter got any money from Soros (directly or indirectly).

This is really going to be hilarious, if the perp turns out to be a registered republican and a Trumpanzee to boot.

The shooters shitty marksmanship suggests that they aren't a Republican.

12   steverbeaver   2017 Jun 14, 8:02am

Maybe the right can use this moment to go all Dylan Roof effect on everything this guy has ever associated with that they don't like, as was done to the confederate flag. Stoop low don't let this crisis go to waste. The left wouldn't.

Exactly. I spend time at the outdoor range and see these right leaning country marksmen shoot 1 MOA with an old hunting rifle with a cheap Tasco scope.

He was, according to MSM reports::

1. WHITE
2. MALE
3. FIREARM OWNER
4. Left Wing

5. Boomer

18   steverbeaver   2017 Jun 14, 9:00am

Yep. The leftist, Bernie bro part of the identity, per Coulter's law, couldn't compete with WHITE! MALE! SHOOTER!

20   fdhfoiehfeoi   2017 Jun 14, 9:04am

It's official. War is now the accepted method for settling all disputes.

21   lostand confused   2017 Jun 14, 9:05am

Another bernie supporter, another shooting. I am not surprised, when I saw the hate and vitriol on the dems the night of the cancelled Trump rally. Lefties are the most savage-ranging from Pol pot to the nazis and the soviet. No logic can reason with them, they are insane. This country is in grave danger if lefty propaganda is not reversed.

Yup only if you are a conservative. Lefties have gone mad-the hatred and vitriol is making them rabid.

Leftie twitter explodes in joy-just like ISIS-no wonder they won't say radical terror-they are it.

Democrats commit nearly 70% of all gun crime. We don't have a gun problem, we have a Democrat problem.

25   zzyzzx   2017 Jun 14, 9:24am

Ban baseball!

26   Goran_K   2017 Jun 14, 9:25am

The Left is sick.

They are pushing for the type of conflict that they cannot possibly win.

When reasoning and open dialogue go out the window in favor of shouting, assaulting, and plays/photo shoots that depicts murder, where else did everyone think this would go!?

29   Shaman   2017 Jun 14, 9:30am

Mainstream Media publishes millions of stories attacking Trump and the current administration. Leftists make calls for violence against patriots.

Are they actually trying to start a Civil War Part II?

Unfuckingbelievable!

30   justme   2017 Jun 14, 9:40am

From the department of unintended consequences: In the same way as the Republican party suddenly became a friend of Russia once Democrats started hating Russia, perhaps the Republican party will now act in favor of gun control?

Certainly George Soros is pushing for it.

32   justme   2017 Jun 14, 9:46am

Here is a an observation for the gun lobby and the open-carry supporters: The gunman managed to shoot (and injure) 5 people before two armed and highly trained police (or was it secret service?) officers managed to shoot him down.

Does anyone in their right mind think that open carry really helps? Would regular and often untrained citizens trying to accomplish the same task be a good thing or just increase the carnage, with bullets flying everywhere? Does anyone think that congress members would like to have open carry among the onlookers at their baseball practice? Just something to think about.

What will likely happen is that the continuing stream of hate from Democrats will lead to big victories in 2018 and 2020. According to a May Gallop poll, Democrats have a 40% favorability rating, whatever made up fantasy they tried to dream up about Russia-Trump has never stuck, and they invested 7+ months of their energy into it. Total fail.

As for gun control, and what I'm about to say is backed by FBI statistics, if you took the right to own and bear arms from Democrats, gun crime would go down by 80%.

35   justme   2017 Jun 14, 10:01am

Who commits the most gun violence of the political type in the US, right wing fanatics or left wing fanatics? I think we all know the answer to that. It is sad that the right wingers are falling all over themselves trying to blame left-leaning media and left-leaning fanatics for the Virginia baseball shootings. I did not hear you complain about right-wing media or right-wing fanatics during any of the many instances of right wing gun terror.

And that brings up the bonus question: Was this event terrorism or not? Also, is it terrorism when some white right-wing fanatic commits gun violence? Yes, this question is relevant because the right wing is very adamant about branding certain cases of violence as terrorism, but not so much others.

36   Ceffer   2017 Jun 14, 10:01am

From hot tears to hot lead, but can't shoot straight. It sucks to be a liberal.

According to all credible crime stat databases (FBI, CDC, etc), Democrats BY FAR (5 to 1 ratio).

BlueSardine says

The left has gone violently insane.

People can score their cheap political points today on Pnet, fine fine.

The real issues are a deeply divided nation and people feeling desperate. Stoking the flames are those who will over generalize and falsely call someone who commits an atrocity, being equivalent and representative of a wider group of people, whom they themselves oppose in some manner (Rs, Ds, Muslims, on and on ...). The belief that violence is a norm held by a majority in mainstream civil groups is extremist thought itself.

There will be more shootings targeting our politicians: from left, right, and other. It is going to grow from here.

Who is going to bring us together? Who is going to be the calm rational person, denouncing violence, asking and seeking political transparency, and uniting all Americans? It sure as hell isn't going to be Trump.

When the right wing attacks come I'm not going to paint all Rs as being inline with that willingness to use violence, because that isn't true at all. I will however gladly and eagerly support the FBI in its continued pursuit and infiltration of domestic extremists groups of all walks in America. The lone wolf isn't something we will ever be able to really safeguard against.

I denounce the shooting. Violence has no place in Politics. From a democrat leaning folk

That's insultingly insufficient. Our society is drowning in a cesspool of advocated division, and you're describing the water?

40   CDon   2017 Jun 14, 10:55am

This was 6-7 blocks from me. I did not hear the shots and thought nothing of the first few police as this is a busy area - but as that became a whole fleet of first responders it was apparent that it was a bit more than that. Scary stuff.
