Is his remarks about Women acceptable or not in an elected official? Keeping in mind the Trump tape, which was a private conversation and not made openly like this tweet.
"Value" in this case is difficult or impossible to define. Also, Indians have to deal with Bureau of Native Affairs that does fly the flag.
The point is, the local community there has the absolute right to remove or do with the statue as they see fight, provided the statue isn't protected by greater federal oversight, or is done within the balance there.
Yes, we all have to deal with symbols we do not like. Doesn't mean we cannot choose to remove one that no longer speaks to the community we are in.
Interesting how liberals blame the whole group here.
But when a muslim extremist goes on rampage... no group blame there.... yeah you guys have credibility... my ass.
True.
Is there a good video link of the "alt-right" protesters too?
We need more people walking around taking video so the public can get lots of unfiltered views and come to their own conclusions. The media is really terrible at being objective lately.
Most people have better things to do with their August weekends, like go to the beach and BBQ with their friends n family
Will Rew disavow the racist Vice Mayor of Charlottesville, and identify the population that voted him in has a problem with anti-white racism?

Not all Klan Members are like that. In fact, most Klan members never kill anybody. The Klan is an ideology of peace, this was just a misguided individual who didn't follow the true Klan Kode.
To think all Klan members are murderous is just plain ignorance. Get Educated!
I want Rew to disavow the Vice Mayor of Charlottesville. Is he a racist?

I'm not sure if he is "racist" but he sure uses some piss poor language and judgment. Lots of that I find disgusting, yes. Not someone I would want as a mayor. He should go. No votes from me. Surprising he is there ... but then again ... Trump ...
The Trump tape being private doesn't absolve it, but I think it is telling you think that it somehow lightens what was said.
Will Rew disavow the racist Vice Mayor of Charlottesville
Already done. Gotta give a brotha time to type.

If the community is strongly against a monument, it would be OK to remove it to some other place. But as it is done now, it is virtue-signaling idiotic politicians who decide. If it would be done by a popular vote, then perhaps I could justify the removal. Dallas or Houston or whatever should vote if they should keep or remove the statue/rename the street etc.

This is just a sampling. He bragged about little White men having to look up to him, I can't get it to post.
Do you think a population that votes for such a man has a problem with Racism?
Also, how did this population vote for him, but likely against Trump, many on ground of his "anti-woman" remarks?
The Trump tape being private doesn't absolve it, but I think it is telling you think that it somehow lightens what was said.
One man is boldly pronouncing white women devils and discussing that eating the pussy of a sleeping girl isn't rape, openly on twitter.
The other is trying to bond with a young kid (in this case, snotty snotrag tryhard Bush) in a private conversation on a bus.
Do you think a population that votes for such a man has a problem with Racism?
If it was known, a cornerstone of the campaign, or part of the motivations of the votes, yes.
The other is trying to bond with a young kid (in this case, snotty snotrag tryhard Bush)
Can you wash Trump's other hateful rhetoric against women so easily too?
By the way, I just found out this Racist Radical Pig was on the VA Board of Ed as well as Vice Mayor
By the way, I just found out this Racist Radical Pig was on the VA Board of Ed as well as Vice Mayor
This starts to look a little bit like a deflection. I can happily rip into the vice mayor too ... but ... can the same be said for you and Trump. ;)

No Deflection; pointing out double standards. NPR had him on and didn't ask him one question about his racist tweets.
If you don't look for something, you don't find it. But you do find the things you're looking for. That's a big part of bias, yes?
To it's credit, CNN is the only television news that covered the Racist Pig Vice Mayor and his racist Electorate's viewpoints.
Most people have better things to do with their August weekends, like go to the beach and BBQ with their friends n family
True. I wonder if there is a specific psychopathology which causes desire to attend protests.
Maybe it gives them a sense of community which they are otherwise painfully lacking.

The local news pretty well destroyed him as well.
Maybe it gives them a sense of community which they are otherwise painfully lacking.
Absolutely. You can see all sorts of similarities in the radicalized right and ISIS: community and belonging being a massive one.
The counter protest was predominantly a desire to react by the community though. They felt threatened, and students are very happy to stand up to hate and anti-diversity movements these days.
Remember, one of the defining things in the Trump vote was a college degree or not.
students are very happy to stand up to hate and anti-diversity movements these days
They are very selective as they will not stand up to Islamic hate (of gays, for example) or BLM hate etc.

I'm not seeing the part where you agree to happily rip into trump.
They are very selective as they will not stand up to Islamic hate (of gays, for example) or BLM hate etc.
They actually will, and do. The problem is, because of the lopsided treatment from our greater administration, they feel they must act as a counter.
I'm not seeing the part where you agree to happily rip into trump.
He is disgusting, sucks, and I'd vote him out in a heartbeat. Happy? (Read up)

At one school a student said on her personal twitter "It is not BLM, it is All Lives Matter". She is Asian American, and was crucified by protesting students followed by her removal from student government.
I respectfully disagree - student protests are extremely one-sided. Trump is bad but Islamic treatment of women/gays is Lone Wolves, and somehow lives of some races matter more than those of other races.
Remember, one of the defining things in the Trump vote was a college degree or not.
With the amount of BS degrees being handed out nowadays it doesn't really mean anything anymore.
Very eye opening compared to one sided media reporting.
Very interesting to see non-commercial video of the actual event.
They are very selective as they will not stand up to Islamic hate (of gays, for example) or BLM hate etc.

Nope, not seeing that. Islam is pretty much never criticized by the left. Islamic violence and intolerance is somehow a blind spot.
Like drBu says, very selective.
I'm not seeing the part where you agree to happily rip into trump.
Why would I rip into Trump? There is literally nothing in his past that suggests he's a White Supremacist. The exact opposite, actually.
There is far more reason to say Bill and Hillary Clinton are racist, with Bill flying back to Arkansas to execute a retarded black man, the massive money taken by both from the Private Prison industry which greatly expanded under Bill, and of course the focus on Superpredators. Not to mention the Hillary Camp making repeated statements about how much they liked the picture of Obama dressed up in Middle Eastern Clothing in 2008, or constantly referring to him as Barrak HUSSEIN! Obama--- than Trump.
The Clintons are some of the greatest Dogwhistler Politicians in the present age.
Islamic violence and intolerance is somehow a blind spot.
I don't think it is a blind spot, I think it is proportionally more in line with the actual threat. The issue is the national populism spreading a good amount of irrational hate throughout the country. There needs to be a counter voice, not to hide ills of radical Islam, but to prevent the majority from being cast as a fringe minority. I'm sure that would sound familiar to the "good Nazis" at the march, right? It definitely sounds familiar to any persecuted minority in the world.
It will be very easy to look back at this time period, 10-20 years out, and watch the growth of hate groups and repercussions of them, both in the US and Europe. Fascism is pretty awful. This is going to be years to unwind from.
Why would I rip into Trump?
If you cannot find fault with Trump, none whatsoever, I would say you are so partisan as to be not rational in thought at all.
Trump just now ...
... as he has much more grievance and disdain for the media, than he will ever show for white supremacists.
Of course no one believes you when you read from a teleprompter 2 and half days later. The white supremacists themselves don't believe you. Why should anyone else?
... as he has much more grievance and disdain for the media, than he will ever show for white supremacists.
Which is "is proportionally more in line with the actual threat" as you yourself put it. The very tiny group of white supremacists is a far smaller threat to democracy than the MSM.
The MSM has been willfully distorting pretty much everything about Trump to suit their extremely partisan agenda.
One day maybe we will have objective journalism in America again, but we sure do not have it now.
Of course no one believes you when you read from a teleprompter 2 and half days later. The white supremacists themselves don't believe you. Why should anyone else?
I don't know if this was the point, but what politician is to be believed then? Isn't that kind of their MO? Lie to keep their jobs and power? I don't know, seems like it's all they do, so why the perceived SURPRISE! when Trump does it?
why the perceived SURPRISE! when Trump does it?
Because they "are so partisan as to be not rational in thought at all" as Rew nicely put it.

Wrong. Media talks. They just killed someone and injured a good score or two. They've also bombed (or attempted to) two sites in the past 15 days.
The MSM has been willfully distorting pretty much everything about Trump to suit their extremely partisan agenda.
34% and falling. The majority speaks. Trump is way way outside typical norms. Partisanship is the only thing keeping him in office.

When he tweets, talks to the press pool on AF1, or talks openly at the mic ... he is Trump. When he reads from a canned set of talking points he is not saying anything genuine. Remember, he was voted in for his plain talking zero PC brashness.
So where is it? It should be as natural as breathing to shout down some Nazis. Why didn't he?
Trump is way way outside typical norms.
Trump is definitely way outside what our owners want us to have as representation.
Our owners are very upset, and instructing the media to throw everything they have at Trump.
Rew says
It should be as natural as breathing to shout down some Nazis.
No, even Nazis have a right to speak. When you shout down anyone, you throw away the right to speak for yourself as well. You should be ashamed for even suggesting that anyone shout down and not listen to anyone else.
Wrong. Media talks. They just killed someone and injured a good score or two. They've also bombed (or attempted to) two sites in the past 15 days.
No, the media talks about a very select and limited set of people hated by the left. They do not talk about events caused by Muslims nearly as much or as long. They are hypocritcal.
Our owners are very upset, and instructing the media to throw everything they have at Trump.
Oh, we have owners now? Who are they?

Free speech has limits, especially free speech directly against the core founding of the country. If the speech wants to be done in a constructive manner, in the spirit of debate, against equals who agree in order to further the best ideas, I am all for it.
Speech that is forced upon a community at gunpoint, doesn't look like the type of free speech America needs to defend. That's oppression.

Just because the media is catering to 70% of the nation that generally agrees, doesn't mean you should not have your 30% alternative outlets, which you do. No one if forcing you to listen.
Oh, we have owners now? Who are they?

Actually, no, except for advocating violence. This country was founded via free speecch directly against the mother country, England.
Speech that is forced upon a community at gunpoint, doesn't look like the type of free speech America needs to defend.
Where did you see such speech, forced at gunpoint?
the media is catering to 70% of the nation
Clearly not. They lied about Trump's chances and then about his platform from start to finish. Thank God democracy prevailed over the media - this time.
Actually, no, except for advocating violence. This country was founded via free speecch directly against the mother country, England.
Of which a core premise is what? The immortal declaration.
Yes, you can challenge it. But again, via hate symbols, weapons, and arms ... that's almost an attack on the state itself, which is why the DOJ is now involved. You can bet the FBI just took all the names and info it could off this event. Get 'em!
Where did you see such speech, forced at gunpoint?
By the militias supporting the white supremacists. Did you miss them? Full tactical gear, typically out of shape, and assault rifles. Organized enough that they were in platoons and even had medics.
They lied about Trump's chances and then about his platform from start to finish. Thank God democracy prevailed over the media - this time.
;)
They didn't lie. His win was within the margin of error. Every other country, the popular vote, is the vote. Maybe time for a change, right? Lord knows states rights only seems to be convenient when it is with the right.
Minority hate groups propping up an authoritarian a-hole isn't my idea of what this country is about. His reign will be over soon enough and then we likely get to see "the victimized white people" come out with their guns. They will protest our democracy protecting itself from this vileness and actually working. This hate trying to tear things down will not succeed.
I heard no "owners" named from Carlin. That's just an anti-government stance in general.
I would assume Trump, Bannon, and Miller would be "owners" correct? :)
America isn't going backward. It will go forward.
If the concentrated-ownership media (Slim, Bezos, etc.) are uniformly attacking somebody it's because the ruling class doesn't like them. It's really that simple.
Do you know what countries lacked a protective tariff? Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, etc. That's why they're so poor. The wealthy in that country wanted to export raw materials tariff-free, and get the latest Eurogoods without tariff. Thus, no middle class, no industry, until the US gave up the tariff and outsourced all it's manufacturing there, and even now the social and economic inequity is still horrible.
The ownership class is almost uniform on opposition to reasonable, all-American (most of our history) tariffs. "Moderate" Tariffs used to be considered 25-35%.
Terry McAuliffe, Warner, Pelosi, the Clintons all hate the Tariff. As do McConnell, Ryan, and McCain, etc. They're the ruling class, now entirely financial (not even IT Guys, only a tiny fraction of the top .1%)
It's pretty clear from campaign contribution sources and amounts who didn't want Trump to win.
It's pretty clear from campaign contribution sources and amounts who didn't want Trump to win.
I'm pro-deep state establishment right now. Yes. Bannon is in trouble. Kelly and McMasters are circling. Tariffs have nothing to do with my vote/leanings. Trump's ideology and reactionary backward looking policies are.
Also, you cannot impose tariffs and do nothing else. You would then need to subsidize manufacturing in the US if you really want it to come back. Even then the US would never have the competitive edge China has right now. Why? The supply lines push all the raw materials right to China. They prototype in days what takes weeks or more in the US.
Also, the US doesn't want those jobs! Not in the same scale and scope. They are dirty, typically low skill, and able to be automated away. It's good honest work, but if I'm gearing an economy, you but I'd push for banking and white collar positions more than blue collar production work.
Tell me the Trump timeline on helping his voters economic situation: What's he done so far? Any education programs? Infrastructure bill? What?
Trump's an empty shirt, a demagogue, and antithetical to American ideals. That's why I didn't vote for him.
Fuck that. Change the narrative to this and watch the bitches flee: What should a crowd of assholes expect when they surround a car, yell at the driver, and hit the car with rocks, sticks, and other objects? Did they expect him to stay still for his lynching, to not panic or rebuke? The fact is simple: the police failed to disperse an unlawful assembly, and can even be shown to have provoked the violence. My side no longer cares what the fake news narrative-du-jour is; we already know it is biased against us regardless.

Either this driver is so stupid that he does not understand that he has immeasurably increased sympathy for anti-fa assholes, or it was a false flag operation simply intended to stir shit up. Ugh.
