Many of the leaders warned that unilateral U.S. steps on Jerusalem would derail a fledgling U.S.-led peace effort

The "peace process" in the Mideast has been going on my whole life. All process, no peace.
Peace in the Mideast is never going to happen.
And moving the embassy will serve what purpose? Be a benefit in what way? How many other countries have embassies in Jerusalem?.... I wonder why that might be...

If there is no purpose and no benefit, why are the Arabs and Muslims so upset? Please tell us.

What? There’s no purpose or benefit to it precisely because it angers so many countries. And if you don’t know why that is the case, then perhaps you need to educate yourself more about the region.

Fear of Arab oil embargo.
I don't know why people are so opposed to this, it's been the law and approved by an overwhelming majority of both Dems and Republicans for 20+ years.
All Trump is doing is refusing to issue a National Security Waiver.
If it's so horrendous and unpopular, surely Congress will withdraw their own legislation.

My only quibble with that comment is, I wonder how much of the turmoil is due to US meddling and shit stirring.
Israeli City to Name Giant Park After U.S President Trump

If you watch/read interviews with butthurt Paleban from 1967, they all moan about the humilation to themselves as "Arabs" or "Jordanians". Almost none of them call themselves Palestinians, except for a handful of Soviet Trained VIPs. "Ordinary" former Arab Serfs of the Ottomans seem to have no idea about any "Palestine".
Also, if it's all about the "Occupation" of Jewdea, how come there was no peace in 1947-1966 with Israel? How come the Palestinians never rose up against Egypt, that annexed Gaza, or Jordan, which annexed the "West Bank". The "Palestinians" didn't seem interested in fighting against annexation by Egypt and Jordan. In fact, the "Palestinian" Flag is just the Jordanian flag with a star on it.

Of the 128 countries, 57 are Islamic countries. They don't count. Another 50 probably need the Arab oil. They don't count.

Ha ha ha. It starts with a trickle.

Supporting Palestine is supporting terrorists. Never reward terrorists be giving them what they want. Always punish them by taking more of what they value the most.
Zero tolerance for terrorism is the only way.

You have to laugh. “Only 128 countries.” What? Why don’t you list all those major countries who supported the US? It won’t take long.

Do those countries run entirely on Hydroelectric and Solar? Or do they need a certain something to keep things running, but don't have a World Deployable Military Force to make sure they get it?
Besides, it's European Realpolitik for them to stake out positions different than the US.
When push comes to shove it's the USA who will be supported, because the world needs the USA, not a barbaric loser like some Islamic country.
Yeah, or maybe they just disagree with the decision.

President Donald Trump will announce Wednesday that the U.S. will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, senior administration officials said
The U.S. will move its embassy to the city, but that could take "years" — possibly three to four — and there is no location yet for the new facility, officials said
