Total chaos at JFK over 6 lousy inches of snow.

Yup. A blizzard with temps around zero and wind in excess of 40 mph. How dare theydelay any flights!!!

Probably union workers. Failed Losers!
Hopefully Trump Republicans stay true to their word and break up all the unions, so the economy can function again

Maybe you’d like to expand on why you think de Blasio is responsible for this.

Yea sure he should have been shoveling planes out of the hanger. I guess you've never heard that the airports are run by port authority which is controlled by the state governments of NY and NJ (that would be chris christie) not the city.

It is far better to remain silent and appear to be a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt Mark Twain.

Sorry, 6 inch snowfall and below freezing temps might be an excuse for San Diego or LAX. It's hardly unheard of in NYC.

People were stranded for a day, people sat on the Tarmac for 4-5 hours. Luggage went unloaded. Airlines closed their customer service desks. A water main leaked. Total Chaos.

JFK belongs to the City of New York; it is leased to PATH. At the very least, DeBlasio has bully pulpit power but was totally AWOL. Cuomo, Governor of New York, is also responsible.

It's a giant liberal conspiracy.

It's funny to hear people so removed from reality, commenting on their #FakeNews

I live in the area, and people who had flights from Atlantic City and Philadelphia were forced to abandon those plans and drive for travel this weekend. Between the sub zero temps and the high winds, it doesn't take much snow to cripple most all travel.

IMAGINE, just IMAGINE, if a Republican said that.

The point being that the Media treats DeBlasio as the Golden Child, much like Obama.

I said PATH in my Original Post. If you think chaos at a NYC airport has nothing to do with the mayor, okay then.

I should note the Governor of New York shares appointments of PATH directors and commissioners, too.

I don't know anything about flying or landing a plane, but I did grow up in the asscrack area of New York next to Canada (I grew up watching the CBC), and 6 inches of snow isn't something you should rush through, although I was once comfortable doing it. I can do 60 MPH through that shit, but a curve, that's 30, 45 max.

The real danger are military people stationed at Fort Drum, they had no idea how to deal with it.

In any case, if the runway wasn't cleared, I think this is reasonable. You don't have a lot of traction in that. Only reason you can get away with it in a car is you're going straight forward. If a deer jumped in front of you car, the only recommendation is to both break, and duck because that's going through your windshield.
