Anyone can have a bad performance. Also, what Richwicks posted was interesting but the sound quality was terrible.

Really, celebrities are entirely interchangeable and meaningless. Music today is made through a corporate machine, not by a human being. It's been this way for 40 years. Basically they are just people willing to absolutely prostitute themselves.

They are used to make whatever political message they are told to produce, they have no convictions or values, they are purposeless and entirely directed by corporate machines. They exhibit no will of their own. They are puppets, not people.

I hope someone reading this thread will put their prejudices away, follow the links I posted, and take a listen to Lady Gaga without her silly costumes, heavy audio effects, and techno backing tracks. My point is unlike some other manufactured celebrities you people love to equate her with she actually has a great voice and can hold her own with a standard microphone and a piano.

I have often thought that a large portion of the income of doctors and hospitals is directly due to hypochondria.

So they have no reason to discourage hypochondria, but instead a motive to keep saying "See your doctor!"

Older comment. I've played live and know some larger bands. I've seen their rack mount equipment. Just because it looks authentic and acoustic, doesn't mean it is.

There's not a large act that isn't auto tuning vocals for pitch and tone. ZERO. Lady Gaga is 100% auto tuned live. Is her voice above average? Probably. I hate the opera, but go there if you want to hear good singing. Pop music is literally all fake if you've ever played or recorded.

I'm 3 albums deep recording wise and well over 100 shows. Opening for big bands sometimes. They bring in their own rackmount rigs with all their effects and their own sound guy. Just roll it in and plug into the sound board. When Lady Gaga sings live it's 100% auto tuned. I wish she could auto tune her face though.

Nurses. I know too many. Their kids are ALWAYS sick with something. Miss school. My kids get an annual physical and that's it. Can be inflicted on a child but usually a female nurse. My aunt did this. I have nurse friends that do this to their kids. It's rather sick. They all pop pills themselves and throw shit at their kids if ANYTHING seems wrong. My cousin had "asthma" and is a perfectly functioning adult. Nebulizer daily for 15 minutes as a child. My nephew has legit lung issues. I went camping for a week with all the boys and didn't know he needed medicine or anything. Guess what, he didn't die and had a blast.

Lady Gaga just opens a vial of adreonochrome like Popeye opens and downs a can of spinach, and her warbling becomes divine.

At one point in my life a Dr. actually told me I might be a hypochondriac. At that time, I think I was. She recommended some type of mental medication and after I took for about 2 days, I was cured of going to the Dr. for frivolous things. I hated whatever that drug was and stopped after 2 days.

I watched all the videos the first go around with this topic. Studio work and live work are one in the same now. Even 10-15 years ago. All live music is massively processed. That can include all instruments. Singing is the unique one where you can miss the note and have it completely corrected. You still have to play your instrument correctly.

And I'm not talking the rap autotune style. I could easily get an awful singer to sound exactly like Lady Gaga live. Even a man. Actually auto tune might be the OG of AI.

Every clip linked she had a mic. I know the OP is about Gaga, but you think a 90 year old Tony Bennett can even sing the way he did at that age?? Hell no. They were 100% processed.

That's why shows like Unplugged in the 90's on MTV was so popular. Love or hate his voice, that was Kurt Cobain's voice during his unplugged session. Gaga could not do that show today without modern tech. There are very rarely naturally good singers if you take the mic away.

Lady Gaga is probably a few years older than she claims to be, which is common in the music industry. She also stole her entire look and persona from another performer, named Lady Starlight or something, that she performed with and collaborated with on several occasions before she got famous, so she can't claim she didn't know who she was. Her hit albums, including her first, were all written by master producers and corporate lyricists.

Music is not even close to art like is was decades ago. The processes have been systemized. An example of manufactured reality. The actual song writers might be the only artists left and even that process can be broken down to a formula.

Everyone I know that got the surgery, lost some mobility in their shoulder. What is a standard microphone? The microphone has nothing to do with what I'm talking about at all. I record drums in my basement that sound as good as any $4k microphones like overhead condenser mics with $200 mics. It's the rack mount equipment. Studio or live.

I'm doing my solo drum recording, but did it for 20 years paid gigs and doing albums. Don't know how old you are but the tech has been extremely advanced for quite some time to process live vocals. The microphone is moot. It's all going through rack mount equipment to make it sound better and can alter the voice if it's close enough to pitch and tone.

She might sound above average acoustically WITHOUT a mic, but she's not a great singer even with the assistance. I mean that's like saying Brittany Spears is a great singer. Adele is one that passes my great singer test, though she's also processed heavily. They all are. The music industry is the front runner of AI over 20 years ago. We just called it effects.

Also "in the box" is extremely advanced. If I have a snare hit that is just off a little, there are plugins that will allow you to align them perfectly. This is consumer level grade stuff. You can buy some crazy shit for live audio. Hell, look at lighting at live events. It's unreal what even a smaller band can do now.
