A popular position by sports fans is that athletes focus on sports and avoid dragging politics into the game. When a Fox host echoed that brief, players like Kevin Durant and Dwayne Wade quickly swiped the racist card.

Lebron = crybaby
Kevin durant = snake
Wade = should retire

If that was all Ingraham said, then you might have a point. But she went on to spew several racist diatribes.

"Must they run their mouths like that"

And it's quite funny that Ingraham tells them to stick to sports after she has had all manner of athletes, entertainers, etc. on here show in the past. Their opinions are worthy as long as they agree with hers apparently.

Said every movie-goer ever. Is it racist to point out reality?

Then why would she denigrate all athletes? Or was it all black athletes?

The comment clearly implied that the opinions of blacks or black athletes aren't worthy of discussion and that they need to know their place. In this case dribbling according to her.

Again, how is this racist?

Also I can list HUNDREDS of incidents where althletes that are not black made really stupid statement s and were taken to task for it. Just because you don’t want to put in the effort to remember does not mean it didn’t happen.

No, it did nothing of the sort. Your inferences are prejudiced against those you disagree with. It's called projection.

If that comment is your example, you are flat wrong.

You are free to disagree, but I'm not wrong. I'd say my view of that comment is how the majority of people view it.

Comments like this are what's referred to as dog whistles.

No, the majority of people in your echo chamber may view it that way. Assuming the worst in others is itself bigoted. It is projection.

The people in your echo chamber are obviously bigots, not this Fox news talking head.

If you are triggered to see racism behind every corner, then your bias would have you seeing implications in remarks that others would see as neutral. Try this: The comment clearly implied that the uninformed opinions of athletes aren't worthy of discussion.

Except that she's had several white athletes on her show to present their political comments. Never dismissed them.

Regardless, you are free to pretend she wasn't blowing the dog whistle.
