All corporations go through reorganizations, it's a market decision. If you don't need a layer of executives and can still maintain the same organizational effectiveness, why would you continue paying them? Corporations aren't in the business of providing welfare.

This is the problem with leftist ideology, the idea that something is deserved regardless of what an individual provides in exchange.

So Trumps fault for the layoffs, ok. There stock is down 4% for the year, probably for the price increases what caused that?

Also I’m hearing about many companies who operate in the real work doing real world things and can’t hire enough qualified or even semi-qualified blue collar tradesmen. Already higher than most white collar jobs, blue collar wages are rising fast, and hiring bonuses are back on the table.

McDonald's is slimming down its corporate structure and laying off workers in an effort to reduce expenses by $500 million by the end of 2019.

In an email to all U.S. employees, suppliers and franchisees, McDonald's USA President Chris Kempczinski said the Golden Arches would be restructuring its regional offices around the country, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

"I recognize that change is difficult, and that eliminating layers within our organization means some employees will ultimately exit our system," Kempczinski said in the memo, according to The Wall Street Journal.

"We are always evaluating ways to better serve our customers and continue to grow our business," Terri Hickey, a spokeswoman for McDonald's, told CNBC via email. "With that in mind, we are putting into place a new U.S. field structure that will better support our franchisees and will ensure McDonald's continues on a path to being more dynamic, nimble and competitive."

Certain industries are always on the rise or the decline, depending on how well they serve customers and the needs of the population.

Is it any surprise that McDonalds has been found to be serving customers less well than more progressive fast food companies with healthier/tastier choices? Poor service has consequences. In a strong economy, moving from a failed corporation to a rising corporation is a positive move for workers.

You don't know that. Maybe a lot more employees would have been laid off had it not been for the tax cuts.
Also, you cannot take the example of just one cherry picked company to determine wether the tax cuts were a success or not. It's like hitting the tree, but missing the forest.
Overall, the spectacular employment numbers clearly show the tax cuts along with the confidence that Trump has generated is creating too many jobs all at once. We don't have enough people to fill all the jobs. It's too much of something good that will actually hurt us.
