Cohen's guilty plea to campaign finance violation was probably included to lower the sentencing of his other fraud pleas. Not a FEC violation to pay someone to be quiet unless funds come from campaign or are reimbursed to campaign. A PLEA of guilty is not "proof" of a violation. It is also not clear that the payment was even a contribution. The money was not paid from the campaign nor reimbursed to the campaign
