Actually the US lost 54,000 jobs. +312,000 is the seasonally adjusted figure (i.e. usually we would have lost more jobs in December).

Trump rocks. It's amazing how some political changes can so quickly improve the economy.
The converse is also true; a political dimwit can fuck up a good economy.
It was depressing in the 70's which are so deeply imprinted on my psyche that I can't spend my money so easily today. I still feel the need to be frugal, it's odd.
The Democrats are only going to make themselves look more idiotic than before, if that were possible, by attacking Trump for continuing to defend Americans, American jobs and the American worker.

The numbers: The U.S. gained 312,000 new jobs in December, capping off the biggest increase in hiring in three years and showing that second longest economic expansion in U.S. history still has plenty of staying power despite growing worries about a slowdown.
The surge in hiring was the largest since February. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch had forecast a 182,000 increase.
Hiring in November and October was also stronger than originally reported, the government said Friday.
