This so-called "Nuevo Bourgeoisie" is in essence, the ppl who hang with the Hillary Clintons and Liz Warrens of the world. In other words, they have cushy jobs or consulting gigs, where in effect, they earn money just like any other rentier, who owns lots of proprieties a/o businesses, but in this case, put on an act that they support the poor, the working poor, minorities, and everyone else who's downtrodden.

The truth is that everyone, whose family doesn't already have money, is becoming downtrodden. The forces of offshoring, automation, etc, will eliminate jobs down the road, not increase them. So yes, while it's possible to formulate strategies which can keep jobs stateside for a bit (basically Trump's tough stance on trade, etc), in the end, however, it's only a temporary wrinkle in time, before the jobs disappear once again.

It's over, there is no hope for humanity. By 2050, 80% of today's jobs will be gone forever. And no, the so-called creative economy will not generate jobs which pay. Think about it, how many newly minted "creative" architects, who've put in nearly 4+ years of post-undergrad training and certificates, earn these days? ... some $40K-$60K. Jeez ... a nurse starts at that (and with even less training) and as long as there are hospitals around, will probably find equivalent work if a clinic closes whereas that architect will probably be leaving his field if his firm loses a client or two.

And I'm talking about architects graduating from places like Columbia, Harvard, and MIT. I can only imagine how bad it must be for those from lesser schools.

Right now, because my firm does this PR stunt with academic institutes, you'd be shocked at how many graduate students in areas like architecture, natural sciences, etc, want to work in financial services. I'd say that there's a deluge of applicants coming from those areas and unfortunately, w/o a connection at the firm, most won't get a phone screening.

None of this bodes well. Only a decade ago, despite the outsourcing in IT, many of those same students would opt for a programming career but now, seeing that being Bezo's or Zuckerberg's bitch isn't the best plan, looking ahead, will do anything to get a job in a rentier sector like finance. Some start as programmers, with a hope of segueing into finance later on.

I don't think they are morally superior to other Americans. I just don't want them to be sacrificed for the profits of bosses and landlords.

Anyway, when the working class gets more money, they spend it. That's good for the economy. When the rich get more money, they throw it on the pile in the basement.

When the rich get more money they acquire more capital, in immortal structures such as corporations and trusts. They concentrate power, over generations, which makes it unreasonably difficult for those born without to become independent.
