This was the central fallacy of McCarthyism, as the first link above points out. "You knew communists? You must be a communist!"

In this case, the graphic is a desperate-looking attempt to go after Trump by going after people near him, since Trump himself is still remarkably clean as politicans go. I myself am pretty surprised at how little evidence such intense politically motivated investigation has turned up.

Unfortunately, the attempt doesn't work at all because the press has ruined its own credibility by more than two years of exaggerations and outright lies motivated by hate for Trump.

When you've got something real on Trump, let us know. In the meantime, please consider that the economy is very good under Trump, and the risk of various conflicts (Korea, Iran, Syria) has gone down because of his foreign policy decisions. You are safer and probably richer because of Trump.

Take the case of Korea doing nuclear missile tests. They stopped because of Trump. I don't know what the hell he promised them exactly, but damn, no other president was able to make that stop.

And the stock market was absolutely spectacular for a good year and a half, starting right after his election. Had a pullback, but still doing quite well overall, and rising again.

And we had the best increase in manufacturing jobs in 20 years.

And we have a near record low unemployment rate.

And on and on and on. You just wouldn't know it from the mainstream press. So much hate.

Before they stopped becasue of Trump, they ramped up nuclear tests becasue of Trump. I wonder why ? Could it be becasue they thought they could play him ? I know that's what some conservative pundits think (note: conservative and right wing are not the same thing).

The right wing media is hilarious on this one and so misleading I've shown you the graph before. Manufacturing jobs have shown a very steady almost linear increase since 2010, and are nowhere close to where they were in 2007. And extremely below where they were in the 90s.
