What there actually was, was bipartisan agreement on high levels of immigration, legal and illegal, while speaking as if they were against it.
It's one of the main reasons Gingrich was mysteriously tossed back in the mid 90s.
Trump is DOING things, which is causing the GOP Establishment and Democrats, that support SJW/Neoliberalism (both philosophies insist on high levels of immigration) to have a freak out.
Meanwhile, not only the next generation of Democrats, but the current and older generations of Dem officials, are doing everything possible to stop any actual enforcement, and indeed, calling to Abolish ICE. Not just AOC or Tlaiban or Ilhan, but also Booker and even Biden.
You know that if it weren't for bullshit politics, there would be bipartisan efforts to protect our southern border - that is a continuation of what's been happeneing, including the near doubling of manpower and money spent on the border stating in about 2009.

Those Marcus supplied TDS cartoons did not age well.
Trump gave a speech praising American history, historical American true heroes, present day heroes, and praise for each branch of the military. He did not make political statements or glorify himself. The whole affair was in praise of the country. Very large crowd in attendance as well. I would presume that some of the attendees did not vote for Trump, but wanted to be at the event anyway.
