When I was in college 30 years ago, I used to print up books, at Kinkos - cheaper than buying the damned thing, and 1/2 the time my professors didn't teach out of it anyhow, even though it was THEIR book. The problem with using this sort or radiation, is the atmosphere absorbs it too. The military spent a fortune on a non-lethal microwave energy weapon, a bunch of reporters showed up to see (and experience) its effects, but it was a humid day, and all they experienced was getting slightly warmer. I suppose another frequency could excite another molecule though. I know there is a frequency used in RF plastic welding, but I don't know what it is.

Some wavelengths of microwave will pass through you like you don't exist, others you have molecules in your body that are opaque to it, so it absorbs all the energy of it. I don't have enough knowledge, and I doubt I could find it, what wavelengths the atmosphere would be invisible to it, but a building, car, home, or person would be opaque to it. I'd have to know a lot more about chemical makeup of things. I would guess it would be hydro-carbon based, that's the similarity. My place is built of hydrocarbons, and so am I but the atmosphere, nearly none other than CO2, and that's a TINY percentage of our atmosphere.

Did you even READ what I wrote about the quality of POD books I have bought? How do you function in life?

For novels, I have two of them that are POD paperbacks. Thick ones too. They are just as good or even better quality than the ones on my bookshelf printed conventionally that I purchased years ago.

I just find it interesting to know something I didn't know. The cost of physically printing a book, doing binding on it, and shipping it for $15, and making a profit, who is doing that?

Slave labor? Probably. I've just never seen it this close up. How can you make any profit doing this?

Even with automation, it seems incredible. It must be at least partially automated.
