Yes I realize I'm painting with a broad stroke there. What puzzles me are the high end condo dwellings, that are just in the middle of some urban area, not on a water front.
For that kind of money they could have bought a SFH in the suburbs, and not have to step out into homelessness, blight, and crime when they leave their home.
There's people taking what ever they can get or afford, then there's people who actually seek that living arrangement out, but could afford a wider range of accommodations they wanted.
Well there are reasons for it, the main one being single. Back in the hey days in SF you would rent a nice place at the waterfront with hot tub and pool, and you would not only be able to bang all the hot single and divorced girls in the same building, but also bring girls home from the neighborhood bars
