The chinese balloon could have been TRIVIALLY recovered by putting a single bullet hole into it. Instead, they blew it up with a sidewinder. The debris fell in something like a square mile of the ocean. If they actually thought it was a spy balloon, they could have recovered it and completely inspected it, instead they destroyed it, to keep up this fake narrative.
