It was worth buying when it was below $32 a share.

I bought some at $37.22 but kind of regret it, even though it's up slightly.

I just don't see a great future for them, or even for cars in general.

Patrick, why ? Is it because of demographic trends ? More people not wanting a car or needing a car, or using Uber, Lyft or ZipCar , Hertz, etc. ? Or living near public transit ?

What companies do you see slowly dying other than GM ? Target ?

I see Netflix with its $20.8 billion in debt (it was $7 billion about 4 years ago), in a major bind when Disney operates its new online streaming service.

Investing in GM is like eating a bottle of viagra and 15minutes later running through a glass window.

If you like dividends, then yes. Otherwise I recommend avoiding most auto stocks at the moment, even GT. F is interesting at its current price.

I think the whole auto industry will face some major changes over the next 10 years as more and more affordable EV cars come out. The Dealer model will take a big hit as there is little to no maintenance needed for EV's. EV cars are already cheaper to manufacture and operate, it is just the battery technology that is expensive..........and that cost is dropping quickly.

I never cared for GM, I hated their cars, the bailout and their big inflexible union operation. But I just leased my first GM car (Chevy Bolt) and it is the best care I have ever owned or leased by far........ and I have driven some nice cars. If GM is serious about EV's and starts churning out cars that are comparable to Tesla at lower prices, I think GM will have a bright future.

Mary Barra - lying sad sack.
In a wide-ranging interview on the subjects of electric vehicles, power infrastructure, and international trade, Mary Barra shares her vision of a future with compact EVs in everyone's driveway. However, she opts to drive the largest gasoline vehicle GM makes.
