Wouldn't want a wee bit of contract law to get in the way of buying votes with somebody else's money.

Disagree with hat socialist agenda. I think it penalizes the parents who paid for college.

It penalizes everyone who paid for college...not just the parents......and sets a precedent that people who pay their obligations are fools.

Agreed. Moral hazard. The right way would be to have a referendum or ballot measure and let the people decide if they want to offer free tuition for more taxes or fees and if approved then start it. Either on state or federal level. Retroactively canceling debt is fraud and criminal like the bailouts were. Fuck Sanders.

These stupid, whining fucks could have attended community college and worked while going to school, like a lot of people did. This kind of reminds me of the folks who leveraged the max out of their homes to buy new cars, exotic vacations, etc. and then demanded a bailout when their homes were under water. Live within your means, make a realistic plan, and by all means, please suck it up and live with the results of your actions.

Why not pay off peoples cars or mortgages. Free shit!

Cancel? There is no fucking cancel.

What Bernie really means is getting people to pay for other people's college loans.

Cancel is a BS term.

Community colleges are a scam. Only 5% of enrollees graduate with a 2 year degree in two years. Only 11.6% of enrollees get a 4 year degree within 6 years. Somehow I doubt that these statistics are presented before students enroll. There are about 11 million students enrolled in these institutions nationwide. They believed the propaganda that these were a low cost entry vehicle to getting a college degree. Along with most for profit colleges, these should be shut down for the betterment of society.

I put myself through college TWICE without ever going into debt, or taking any type of loan. If i can to it TWICE, I expect everyone else to be able to do it at least once.

You’re looking at them wrong. Community colleges are used as a stepping stone towards either higher education or a lucrative trade. I have several friends 40+ who started their educations there and finished at university in engineering. And we send our apprentices to community college to learn things like welding, drafting, electric motors, electronic controls, PLC controllers, etc. You can get an associates in something like dental hygiene and make $70k. IMHO community colleges are the best entry to higher education, providing a cheap and convenient pathway for people to discover a new career path or a path toward a higher degree.

Holy sharks. Pretty much a patnet agreement on this topic.

Quigley is spot on about CC's. If you want to be a doctor, you're not going. There's also other things CC's teach outside of what he mentions. I'm sure every "good" photographer has taken some sort of class on the basics when learning. Most likely from a CC. While not a super important role is society, they're at least not broke and living off the government. They teach a lot of weird, niche things that at least make people productive instead of the opposite. Which free college is the opposite of.

If our government gives you $100K for your student loan, then they have to give everyone $100K.

Don't forget this is America, the land of Monkey See, Monkey Gibs.

$120 if you are black (extra 20 is for reparations)
$110 if you are hispanic (no reparations, but you are more special than average)
$200 if you are a faggot (Democrats thank you for last nights services rendered)
$0, and double your tuition if you are asian or white.

I always thought CC were great especially since most 18-20 year olds are not even sure what they want to be in life yet. Its college on training wheels nobody should be complaining about the cost its pretty cheep.

I have an idea, read some books and get educated? Abraham Lincoln did it just like that, over a century & a half ago but yet, ppl can't seem to do it today w/o spending the price of a house on it.
