Have a trip planned to Mexico for the first week of June. My mom was going to watch my kids. Change of plans, we'll have to deal with it and figure something else out. They're gonna have to be out for a while.

A retired or disabled 60+ something person really should have ZERO expectation that the world will stop for them. Especially in cases where it was self induced (smoking, diabetes, etc).

I also don't care about billionaires. They die, the money goes to someone that will spend it. Who the fuck cares? Death is bad, but as the previous comment says, they're very likely isolated in multi-million dollar homes in gated communities. They're the least at risk by a long shot. And again, who cares.

Considering we ramped up testing the numbers seem to be stagnating around steady growth for now - but the social distancing / shelter in place is necessary now. States that implemented that are starting to slow down. NY/NJ is still raging. It's not deadly enough for the elite to panic. This is not Ebola. Still they might continue to try to get dibs on testing and meds. In a way it has been affecting them more since thy travel more, so a lot of celebs and rich people got it. Yes, that is the first possibility mentioned in my post: "a conventional seasonal Corona-virus that has been spreading among the general population since late 2019 (and not causing much more than the usual Flu / Cold for the winter season)" That also means a large cross-section of the population is already immune . . . which was hinted by the testing result on Diamond Princess: the infection rate should have been much higher than 20% after people had been locked in that environment for 3 weeks (with the first week fully mingling!) if nobody onboard had any immunity (i.e. had already been exposed previously before getting on the ship and fully recovered or recovered from no symptom at all).

I was adding the possibility that it's still new, and very deadly for older people, but that we don't know how many people have it, possibly way way way more than we think.

I guess Korea's numbers after testing well makes that possibility, less likely.
