If I was 6 months old or 85 I'd actually care. The market is reacting to China completely fucking up and what the reaction is going to be. The quarantines and supply chain disruption are real. The current numbers mean nothing given the self-reinforced nature of contagion.
The question is: are we closely tracking every infected person and preventing new contagion?
The answer is no. In several countries there are people walking around who probably don't know they are infected. Thus they can take the subway or a plane, attend conferences, go to work, etc...

So what? Even in China with the massive spike numbers are falling now. It may very well become a seasonal occurrence, but this whole drama around it is utter bullshit. What's real is the supply chain disruption. 60 people total were diagnosed so far of which only 15 originated in the US - a country of 330 million people. There will be a slight spike followed by a drop-off to seasonal re-occurrence. Meanwhile heart diseases and cancer and car accidents and the flu - currently at its peak - kill millions and nobody cares.
