As severely overpopulated as we are, why is this a problem?

Uncontrolled pandemics are a threat to civilization itself. I know you live in Baltimore, but other people enjoy living in civilization!

I've been battling a Flu since Monday night. Chills, Sweats and aching bones. With a deep chest cough.
Turning the corner today. I think I was alive in early 1900's when the Spanish Swine Flu wiped out millions.
I wouldn't have had the luxury to keep my self hydrated, rested and wrapped up in blankets until the chills passed.
I think that's the difference. The Flu claims people today because they for what ever reason can't give their body the attention it needs when they get sick. They work and trudge through doing their normal routines. They continue on until their flu reaches a critical point and they need emergency services just to keep them alive and breathing.

Climate change on the other hand is permanent over 100's of years. And it may bring pandemics with it such as malaria, dengue etc

I would say climate change has been around for thousands of years.

Soon there will be mosquitoes in Alaska!

Climate change is not emergency at all. Too slow and insignificant.

Um, hope that was an ironic comment. I’ve been on the Northern slopes of the Brooks range above the Arctic Circle in Alaska and the mosquitos about ate me alive!

I understand that during the spring melt, when many square miles of shallow ponds form over the permafrost, mosquitos breed like crazy and the caribou lose a quart a week of blood to the mosquitoes.
