I quoted the summation/conclusion commentary part of the piece (basically the last 6 paragraphs of the piece in their entirety), assuming literate people would read the whole piece and be able to comprehend the context, that is if they wanted to.

It's better to take a step back, look at the context of the quote, and see that the media is spinning things in order to get you to hate for their own reasons.

Most Trump supporters are not particular fans of Trump the man, just of his policies, and even that out of desperation, because no other politician will even get close to telling the truth about the evils of globalization. But try to explain that to someone frothing at the mouth with rabid hatred.

I would agree that it's possible that he's simply stupid and incompetent, saying such things - either asking for trouble (a little demon inside) "I'm sure there are fine people on both sides," or simply not competant enough (for that position) to be capable of being more careful what he says.

He definitely would be graded poorly by an English teacher for grammar and coherence, yet he also pretty consistently takes the position of American workers as opposed to the globalist politicians betraying American workers to please global corporations.

And yes, he seems to enjoy pissing people off. He's from New York. It's an endemic personality trait there.

It's a package deal, not perfect, but overall a good deal for American citizens.

Of course the parameters of everything have shifted with coronavirus, which is a direct and inevitable result of globalization. It's going to get much harder to defend outsourcing to China and opening the border with Mexico.

Even speaking about the evils of corporate globalization is a major accomplishment for a US president. No president before Trump had the will or ability to speak these truths. They were all beholden to donors who were making money by betraying America to China, etc.

Trump does brag, but that does not prove that he is ineffective. The facts on the ground support him.

I don't see Trump and the stock market being up as cause and effect other than as a result of tax cuts that I believe were in fact bad for our future.

Now the government finds itself spending 1.5 trillion to defend an over priced stock market. I doubt you can even conceive of how totally fucked up that is.

As for arguing the benefits of nationalism and isolationist policies ? It might have been interesting having an intelligent and articulate leader argue in favor of these, and to have the complexities debated and understood to some degree by the public at large . I personally don't buy it. I'm one of those that believes some sort of world government or coalition (not necessarily open borders) is inevitable if humanity is to survive and flourish.

It's a lie to claim that globalization didn't happen decades ago and backed by both sides, if not more by the right. Just becasue Brietbart paints a cartoonish straw man of it being a democrat conspiracy that they are fighting against Trump for doesn't mean you have to buy it. Wtf man. It's History. Ben Shapiro was an ardent anti Trumper but has stated that due to the intense msm lies he is forced to repeatedly defend President Trump. I feel the same way. There’s most definitely things to criticize about the man. I think the good grossly outweighs the bad, but still there things he could handle differently. Unfortunately the left wing propaganda machine forces us to constantly be on the defensive or one comes off sounding like a blind hater.

In fact I think that’s yet another reason the left hates the President. He is outstanding at taking the ball away from them and going on the offensive. There’s no counter in their playbook and President Trump winds up coming off as the Roadrunner while the Dems and MSM are Wile E. Coyote.

You are ok with this idea seeing how corrupt other governments are? China and India have a combined population 8x that of the US and more people than the entire western world combined. There is literally 90% of the planet that does NOT have the same protections afforded us in the constitution where the rights of the individual, granted by God, are revered above the rights of the collective.

And look at the UN...a body that actively HATES Jews. Have you seen any of Nikki Haley addressing the UN? It is literal pleas on Israel’s behalf and condemnation of the corruption of the UN.

People are not born good. I can’t imagine US subbrogation to world leadership. Ever. And people wonder why we need an unfettered second ammendment.
