The deficit only matters in terms of inflation but is net net neutral in this era anyways where ZIRP is not enough and many countries have been gunning for NIRP.

I have repeatedly asked him to explain how that monster could be, in any way, superior to any other person that could be running for the presidency. If there was absolutely nothing known at all about Trump when he was running in 2016, he would still have been a preferable candidate compared to Clinton to me.

Imho, this all comes back to the core issue in political debate: most people make up their minds, and then look for facts to support their decision, not the other way around.

The facts are clear: Trump did not start any wars, and has been perhaps the best president for the economy ever.

But there is a lot of subtext on both sides, generally too embarrassing to be spoken.

The right is pissed off that liberals have gotten away with so much for so long.

The left is pissed off that all of their usual misrepresent-and-shame tactic failed to swing the presidential election.

Of course there is much more to it, but maybe that's a good first approximation.
