Instead of having the great renter eviction starting at the end of July, the governor of my state (and I'm sure it will be rolled out nationwide) has said that renters cannot be evicted until October. So, he gonna let them free-load an extra 3 months. Therefore, landlords go 6 months without income. Now, the rent is not forgiven, but everyone knows it is uncollectible. Most rental properties have a mortgage. I wonder how many of them ain't getting paid.

I wonder if he will just extend the moratorium again. What could possibly go wrong?

And schools are on lock-down for a virus that is rarely fatal to kids

It's not fatal to kids at all. You don't need to say rare. There's not one legitimate case I've read about where there were zero underlying issues. Basically the kid died of Covid and that was it. It hasn't and won't kill kids. There is zero evidence in almost the entire god damn world of 7B+ people. Even kids with rare diseases and complications. They're strong enough to survive it.

If the Covid is a societal problem and millions of renters lose jobs because of it, than millions getting evicted is a societal problem as well. Either EVERYONE has to accept losses or everyone accept that the new normal is print baby print.

No, there is not 'societal problem'. Or rather, not EVERYONE has to accept losses.

Government has to do three things in order to stay in biz. In this order, too:

1) Be able to protect itself. (mostly from other governments but also uprisings)
2) Be able to protect the property of its 'citizens'. (just like all protection rackets must do)
3) Be able to protect the lives of its 'citizens'.

Note how Property comes before Lives?

Communist & banana republic regimes don't do well nor last long when they don't protect property rights, for example.

I believe you and I agree. This is what I am saying...the government has no right to shut anyone's job down. If they do by claiming it is a societal problem, then those people must be made whole OR everyone has to accept a loss. But Nooooooooooooooooooo, the government would NEVER let banks and big corporations take a loss, RIGHT?!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I'm saying the little people must be made whole also.

It's politically incorrect to use such phraseology nowadays. But, in the 1977 NYC blackout some referred to it as "Jewish Lightning".

We stopped being a nation of laws a while ago. Governors forced businesses to close, forced schools to close, forced people to stay in their homes except for essentials, closed places of worship and basically caved to a media sponsored hysteria. This drove about 20 million job losses. I had my rant against Trump back in March for allowing this madness to start.

You can't fight it. The court system is basically closed. Can't have 12 jurors in close proximity contagion you know, and the Republicans in Congress are trying to pass immunity from Covid related lawsuits. You can just bet the States will get the protection as well as businesses.
