Dying on a ventilator after being intubated has to be a terrible way to die. I think a lot of fear stems from that procedure being hammered into people’s minds.

I personally think the masks are potentially immunizing more people though too, through low level exposure and limited exposure to the dead virus. I have a stack of old masks in my car that i wear when I forget a mask. Those have to have some dead or weakened strain of the virus or other viruses on it. I always believed in too sterile of an environment being really bad for the immune system. Your immune system needs a work out... so wearing a “dirty” mask for a healthy person is probably good and has some benefits.

Dying is terrible. You're dead. Fear of death is fear of death. None of us have died, so no point in saying one way is worse than any others.

Or you just allow the body to react naturally. Protect yourself if vulnerable. Let's say I'm overweight. The solution right now is to starve everyone else because I ate too much and am fat. That's not a logical approach, but that's what Fauci would have us believe. Fuck everyone else except for these few vulnerable people that likely did it to themselves.
