U.S. cities that virtue signaled by defunding their police departments are seeing record crime levels, forcing many city leaders to rethink their basic levels of intelligence.

Here's what has happened in a few cities that voted to slash police budgets:

Homicide grew by 44% in New York, which had 1,531 shootings and 462 murders in 2020.
Homicides also increased 36% in L.A. to 350, leading the police chief to say "a decade of progress" has been erased.
Minneapolis, the center of the "Defund the Police" movement, saw a 46% increase in murders.
Oakland, California has seen a staggering 314% increase in homicides.
Portland, Oregon has seen murders triple.
Austin, Texas has had a 26% increase in aggravated assault reports.
Chicago saw a 65% increase in homicides from June 2020 to February 2021, despite arrests dropping 53%.
Philadelphia hit a 30-year-high with homicides in 2020, with 499 people murdered.
Even smaller cities like Louisville, Kentucky had a record high of 173 murders and is on track to surpass that this year.
The New York Times reported that many such cities are now expanding their police budgets to try to deal with these outcomes that absolutely no one could have seen coming.

Probably by the same cops who are pissed that they have no money to waste

Justice would be locking up the politicians who defunded the police. IMO a reasonable person is expected to know that defunding the police would result in a rise in crime. Especially domain experts in charge of this policy. It's not like we don't have lots of history on the books on the effects of increasing / decreasing police.

We even saw how some politicians purchased private security after defunding, or how riots magically stopped when reaching the mayors neighborhood. They knew damn well what the effects would be.

The blood is on their hands.

It’s going to get worse. Blue cities and states also kept their schools closed for a year or more, ensuring that youths who were already at risk fell right off the education path and landed in the gangster path. They’ll never be regained by the education system but the prison system will be enriched by their continued presence. And until they’re locked up, the rest of the community will have to suffer with sky high crime rates and being unsafe.
Thanks Democrats and teachers unions!

LAWSUIT TIME!

Seriously, those politicians should held be personally liable for the rise in crime that their consciously bad decisions personally caused.

This was deliberate and willful abuse of public trust, resulting in mayhem and many deaths.

How can we get such a lawsuit moving? What would it take? Which lawyers might take it on?

All crime in poor neighborhoods. Rich people who wanted police defunded all live up in the hills, they aren’t affected.
6   Patrick   2021 May 26, 7:34pm

I find it hard to believe that overt abuse of public office is not a criminal offense.

All part of the subversive plan to destroy local sympathies and security and move toward a central, kinetic military force against the people controlled by the foreign city state of Washington DC.

Everybody is mad because the military hasn't acted. They should be grateful the military hasn't acted. The Globlists have to try to assemble their Stasi/SS/Gestapo etc. from nearly scratch and extend it nationally. It's scramble and militia time, States. These movements cannot succeed without the sympathy, complicity and cooperation of the people.

The problem is an utter lack of personal responsibility and manners. Get a gun and take responsibility for protecting yourself and your property. Talk to people and be willing to negotiate. We don't need police, we need to act like adults.

Baltimore Responds After Dozens of Businesses Threaten to Stop Paying Taxes
BY JACK PHILLIPS June 13, 2021

Around three dozen businesses in Fells Point, Baltimore, said in a letter that they won’t pay taxes unless the city adequately deals with a surge in crime in the area that included a series of recent shootings earlier this month that left three dead.

Remove all police and law and I’m shooting all politicians dead for fun. It would actually bring me joy.

The city will fund the tax enforcement thugs, and there will be plenty of manpower to shut down a business that had its permit revoked.
13   Patrick   2021 Jun 13, 12:42pm

Yes, but each business they shut down deprives themselves of revenue and makes them weaker.
14   FuckTheMainstreamMedia   2021 Jun 13, 3:16pm

I’m new to this being the wise old guy thing. What do you call absolute fucking morons who have the consequences of their actions laid out before them, yet they in an undignified level of stupidity undertake said action anyway?

This book came out in the early 60’s. The movie ten years later. Any rational reading should horrify the reader. I read it 30 years ago at age 18 during a basic English class in my freshmen year in college. I get that it’s a work of fiction. But the allegory isn’t fiction.

I fear for LA. I’ve still got about two handfuls of years before I can retire. All the major law enforcement agencies here are experiencing a mass exodus. In California a cop can retire after 20 years. Most stick it out for 30 due to the higher level of the retirement. However there’s been an uptick in retirements after 20 years, an upswing in resignations from those with 10 or fewer years, and a surge of applications in cities outside California. The politicians in Los Angeles have made a disgusting filthy disease breeding mess of the homeless and now the idiots impose rules on the police so severe that it renders them impotent.

Even Public Enemy, who made their music based on fighting the system on behalf of black people, had a lyric on one of their most recent albums “yeah fuck the police, but who’s stopping you from killing me”
15   RC2006   2021 Jun 13, 4:49pm

Bunch of my neighbors are cops they said fuck it and left CA and didn't wait for full pension. One was telling me about some soccer mom in LA when we was visiting said LA is going to collapse and that she bought and RV for escape. He told me if dumb blond soccer mom sees the writing on the wall its to late the ship has sailed its only a matter of time for collapse. Prices here are being pushed up about 30k a month in ID and it's hitting CA prices, its becoming to late to sell and move here now.

Left learned to use propaganda to get people to act against self preservation.... defund police, castrate your kids... it’s nuts!

This. The government always has thugs to collect money, and put dissidents in jail. It is the real criminals who will walk free. Clinton, Biden, Fauci... they are big time criminals and the fact they are not held accountable for their crimes is evidence that the rule of law is a farce. Even Bill Gates has been accused of sterilization of poor children in third world nations without parental consent under the guise of vaccine efforts. Wanna bet when this is all said and done the billion vaccines the G7 is donating to third world countries end up sterilizing (or worse) a good number of the recipients?

Baltimore City actually slightly increased police funding, and is experiencing a crime wave just the same:

It's not just defunding police, it's prosecutors declining to prosecute.
20   Patrick   2021 Jun 14, 10:59am

Maybe prosecutors should not have the right to nullify any laws they choose by declining to prosecute whatever they feel like.
21   AmericanKulak   2021 Jun 14, 11:42am

And judges should be told by legislature what legal philosophy to use. There's no reason Congress can't legislate originalism.

Notice the officials were not worried about depriving themselves of revenue during the plandemic forced shutdowns. Also, such officials are short sighted. True, shutting down a business and seizing its assets will destroy future tax revenue from that business, but the officials will gladly make that trade to get their money for today and punish someone for defying them.

Pretty much all the guns that blacks are murdering each other with in Chicago are illegally owned anyway.
27   🎂 Ceffer   2021 Jun 29, 1:13pm

Medical triage in Chicago is not answering emergency calls for gunshots in the known areas for two hours. If they survive the bleed out, they will take them to the emergency room.

I saw a black lady cuss out a man at the emergency room for trying to be a hero and 'saving' a gunshot whomper too early. Maybe they will extend the bleed out time to three hours.

Useful idiots never survive the revolution.

Nope. Governmental policy setting falls under sovereign immunity. Courts have long held that the avenue to address that is at the voting booth.

I think FL governator/legislature passed a law that cities who allow burn loot and murder activities are liable for damages to businesses.

... Morlock hooked up the pool to a fire hydrant at the Division Street underpass of Highway 99E, which is also known as Martin Luther King Boulevard.

"Morlock said he 'tried to steal' a slurpee from 7-11 this weekend...

The guy was a model citizen: stealing water, stealing slurpees....
