We stayed in Lone Pine overnight and in addition to being very scenic, people very relaxed about masks, or even taking a stand for sanity and freedom.

Love it. From the reflection, it looks beautiful. I've always wanted to drive up that way and actually see Death Valley.

Fantastic👍 Have a look at 'The Racetrack' while you are there, its quite amazing.

In addition to being one of the most visually stunning places on earth, the Owens Valley is very based and red....for California....that's why I love going to Mammoth.

Heathens! Flood it. Rid them of their sin. By order of St Patrick.

But seriously, it's also useful to keep around for science reasons, a place to do experiments on the hottest weather on earth.

Time for the purple haired Immense Hirsute Lesbian Paratrooper brigades to exterminate this place. Unfortunately, Space Force has shut down the directed energy weapons for the time being that were being used to immolate these recalcitrant communities to ash.

I think this thought used to be true, but are there anymore honest scientist around? Seriously? Maybe product testing and engineering in DV, but science is dead from my point of view after Covid.

There are lots of honest scientists still. Almost all are.

The problem is not technology or technologists, it is technocrats. Technocrats are in the 0.01% cabal.

They sure as shit aren't speaking up about their work, that's for sure. If their work is being manipulated and used to mislead people, they need to speak up. I'm not seeing that with provably false data with Covid.

I personally know of more breakthrough, symptomatic cases of Covid in the last month than cases of the unvaccinated. I can't say a thing about it besides places like this or to my friends and family. Many of which have been brainwashed by technocrats and media to the point you cannot change their opinion. My anecdotal evidence cannot statistically be an outlier for a supposedly 80-90% effective vaccine. It's an impossibility or a flat out lie. Scientist need to confront this information once and for all.

Also, why do we have 3 different companies with 3 different vaccines? If this was such a crisis they all should have pooled resources to save human lives, profit be damned. They make plenty of cash on other products. Scientist, doctors and government are also pressuring people to pump shit into their body that their peers have not even approved at the government level.

TL:DR - I have little to no faith in modern science and medicine.

Those are the technocrat controlled puppet scientists. Science itself is far broader than covid propaganda.

If Death Valley were an inland sea, the immense heat that builds there every day wouldn’t reach those high temperatures. Instead, much of the solar radiance would be reflected, or absorbed by the water. This would have a cascade effect on everything in Southern California.
1)We wouldn’t have Santa Ana winds anymore. Those come from the deep desert, generated by the imbalance in temperatures.
2)The Ridiculously Resilient Ridge of high pressure that keeps (most) storm clouds away from SoCal during summer months is generated by the desert. Cool the desert, and SoCal would once again get rained on with a fair amount of regularity during summer and fall months.
3)Basically, we’d go from desert climate to subtropical with about double the precipitation or better.
4)the new inland sea would also create weather through cloud formation there, which would drift over the rest of the southwest to water Nevada and southern Utah and Arizona.

Basically, an inland sea where Death Valley is now would alter the weather of the Southwest making it significantly more wet. But not a ton more wet, just maybe doubling rainfall.

It would be an interesting experiment!

Not the worst idea ever. Especially if Steve Quayle is correct. His movie trailer is below. "Megadrought: Vanishing Water"

Why not fresh water? Sierra Nevadas are closer by, their snow melt feeds rivers.

Look up the concept of SPECIFIC HEAT to understand why deserts "get so hot." Unknown to many who don't live in or near actual deserts, it results in them getting "so cold" at night as well.

What was your favorite part of the trip? Or, are you still on leg 1 of the journey?

Because it will become salty in no time. Have you seen Badwater Basin?

Do you really mean that?

You seem to enjoy the modern science-based technology marvel of commercial aviation: going as far as the other side of the world (or Caribbean or whatever) in relative comfort and safety (compared to non-modern modes of travel), reliably, and for less than the cost of a steer. Even the chlorine you put into your swimming pool comes cheaply and reliably from manufacturing processes at scale enabled by modern science.

Yes, I know, much of pharma is a scam when healthy living would do better. That said, there's all sorts of modern medicines we take for granted, like novocaine. Do you tough it out with the dentist's drill because you have no faith in novocaine?

Finally got back from Death Valley just now. The driving was kinda painful, more than 1,100 miles round trip, but I have to admit that the scenery was very impressive.

We saw all the main sights. Nice weather, high of about 60.

The restaurant where we ate on Tuesday night was part of the National Park Service, so they allowed only about 1/3 of normal capacity, causing huge lines. The waitress was annoyed at it. I said "Let's Go Brandon" and she absolutely agreed with that sentiment.

It was fun but slightly disturbing to be so off the grid that the car radio could not pick up a single AM or FM station.

Wife took this photo of me in the Alabama Hills near Lone Pine:

We stayed in Fresno last night because it's a big Armenian center, and wife is half Armenian.

People in Fresno were even more relaxed about masks than in Lone Pine. We shopped at Trader Joe's and I went in without a mask expecting a fight like around here, but no one said anything about it, and I counted seven other people without masks as well. Nice!

There was, however, a murder-by-vaxx station set up outside the Cal State building that had the Armenian museum in it. The nurse outside said we had to wear masks even outside. I just shook my head. Nurses are such criminals lately. I will never trust the medical profession again.

Reno NV local sports pub, not a single person wearing or in possession of a mask. Casinos of course different

Paso Robles, CA, majority of shops and wineries do not require masks. Very refreshing

The Eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health.

Sounds good to me.

That's a great picture! Glad you enjoyed your trip. Did you see the erosion-steps in the hills from when the valley was an inland sea? Did it still make sense to Hetch Hetchy the place after seeing it in person?
23   Patrick   2021 Dec 31, 10:40am

I saw a lot of weird things, but I'm not sure I saw the erosion steps.

Still not sure if it would make sense to flood the place. I big lake, even if salty, might be as beautiful as the valley as it is now, and have weather benefits. Otoh, I wouldn't want to created another Salton Sea, which is very ugly.
