But seriously, it's also useful to keep around for science reasons, a place to do experiments on the hottest weather on earth.

I think this thought used to be true, but are there anymore honest scientist around? Seriously? Maybe product testing and engineering in DV, but science is dead from my point of view after Covid.
There are lots of honest scientists still. Almost all are.

They sure as shit aren't speaking up about their work, that's for sure. If their work is being manipulated and used to mislead people, they need to speak up. I'm not seeing that with provably false data with Covid.
I personally know of more breakthrough, symptomatic cases of Covid in the last month than cases of the unvaccinated. I can't say a thing about it besides places like this or to my friends and family. Many of which have been brainwashed by technocrats and media to the point you cannot change their opinion. My anecdotal evidence cannot statistically be an outlier for a supposedly 80-90% effective vaccine. It's an impossibility or a flat out lie. Scientist need to confront this information once and for all.
Also, why do we have 3 different companies with 3 different vaccines? If this was such a cr...
If Death Valley were an inland sea, the immense heat that builds there every day wouldn’t reach those high temperatures. Instead, much of the solar radiance would be reflected, or absorbed by the water. This would have a cascade effect on everything in Southern California.
1)We wouldn’t have Santa Ana winds anymore. Those come from the deep desert, generated by the imbalance in temperatures.
2)The Ridiculously Resilient Ridge of high pressure that keeps (most) storm clouds away from SoCal during summer months is generated by the desert. Cool the desert, and SoCal would once again get rained on with a fair amount of regularity during summer and fall months.
3)Basically, we’d go from desert climate to subtropical with about double the precipitation or better.
4)the new inland sea would also create weather through cloud formation there, which would drift over the rest of the southwest to water Nevada and southern Utah and Arizona.

We stayed in Lone Pine overnight
Why not fresh water? Sierra Nevadas are closer by, their snow melt feeds rivers.
TL:DR - I have little to no faith in modern science and medicine.
Wife took this photo of me in the Alabama Hills near Lone Pine:
Eye Of Horus
The Eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health.
