This must be like when the creator of Pepe, killed him off. How did that work out?

Wachowski brothers became Wachowski sisters after the original Matrix movies were made. What could possibly go wrong?
3   Rin   @   2021 Dec 22, 9:44am

I stopped watching after the first 45 mins on an international streaming site.

It was basically akin to "SW: The Force Awakens" where much of the original movie was re-hashed (& also, re-played in the background for contrasting effects), with a bunch of silly fight sequences and the same lengthy expositions.

When Thomas Anderson/Neo was re-released from the Matrix for the 2nd time, he appeared to be less inspired and motivated as in the original film. This is where Trinity (as Tiffany in the Matrix) was suppose to rise in power. Anyways, I was done long before the "The Matrix: The Rise of Trinity" took hold, to unleash the power of feminism onto the real world of living humans.

This is just another SJW tripe sequel/reboot. We've seen enough with Star Wars & the Terminator series to fall for it again.

I'm laboring through the woke, reborn computer game sequel "The Last Of Us 2". In the first one, adorable little girl Ellie is protected by the kind, protective, long suffering Joel as they slay zombies and human erratics through a apocalyptic hellscape.

In the sequel, darling little Ellie has become Piss Ant Millenial Adolescent Ellie discovering her lesbianism, I shit you not. She's a competent computer game mass murderer, but what a sullen, oxygen depleting, bratty, spoiled and self centered little lesbo she is. Kindly Joel who takes interminable shit testing from her is clubbed to death with a golf club by baddies, who she can then pursue with a campaign of carnage. So, White Male destroyed for the woke, competent lesbo female, as ad nauseum these days.

Who gives a shit? They weren't good movies from the first ones. Trying to mind fuck simpletons does not make it a good movie. Reeves is overrated as well. Never understood the love of the franchise. It sucks.

Keanu Reeves is a better looking version of Beavis.
7   PerfectlyFlawed   @   2021 Dec 22, 12:33pm

Reeves should just stick to 'Bill & Ted'

Matrix jumped the shark on the 2nd one. And they originated the subliminal sjw crap. Every bad guy is pale fucking white male while nearly every good person is black or Asian.

It's ok if it's subliminal because ultimately, the hero was still Neo, despite the presence of the Architect, the Merovingian, and Agent Smith as the perennial adversaries.

Elevating Trinity (or Tiffany) to superstardom is pathetic because she contributed very little in the original series besides being Neo's main squeeze. In effect, if Neo was 50 and not a horny guy in his early 30s, he could have done it entirely without her.

Even the most hardcore Matrix fans saw that Carrie Ann-Moss was a sideshow with a hokey love that would not have made it, in any wannabe Dr Zhivago type of film.
10   Ceffer   @   2021 Dec 22, 3:19pm

I suppose reversing the red pill is appropriate, since the original matrix was one of the early adopter SJW templates for ultra heroic minority types 'saving' the world from the demonic technologic WhiteFucks..

The red pill was supposed to invoke the barphy political correctness instead of conservative reality LOL!

No no no no. There are rumors that the Wachowskis stole the original Matrix script, which would explain why they didn't understand the source material they supposedly wrote. I'm starting to believe that they stole it.

Are the machines that construct and control the perceived reality "left" or "right" in the original film?

They are neither left or right, they just control the perception of what reality is as they exploit humanity.

The original Matrix was a thinly veiled allegory of the people (things?) that dictate our reality (what we discuss, what issues we discuss, what is fashionable, what we should buy, how we should act, etc) and the rest of us that just accept that.

Do you really think that the people in power give a fuck about LGBTQ issues, or they're just promoting it to fuck with us? They're playing with us. Same thing with this "pandemic" - they're going out to vacation to Mexico or god knows where while they are telling us we have to stay at home or grandma will die. Can't go out to dinner, but Newsom can for a $300 lunch with large donors.

The red pill isn't "right wing", it just represents true awareness. I think the Wachowskis DID steal the script.

Anyhow, the authorities are OPENLY fucking with the population, and people don't realize it when they should. 14 days to flatten the curve. What's the latest excuse du-jour?

BTW - I predict that the new Matrix will flop, not because of its content, but nobody gives a shit about films any more.

And since:
1)the media purports to do exactly this
2)actively tries to censor and suppress alternative viewpoints
3)is blatantly Leftoid

That makes the “Red Pill” allegory antagonistic to the Left right now since they are the evil empire propagandists of the era.

Sounds like they wokified the fucking Matrix, which isn’t surprising from the Wachosky (sisters). Hard pass. Honestly I didn’t like or appreciate the second or third Matrix movies, so not sure why I’d watch a fourth uber feminist one.
13   clambo   @   2021 Dec 23, 6:35am

The first Matrix movie was fun but I won’t watch this new sequel or whatever it is.

“Red pilled” is now a part of our language, and that’s not going to change.

I remember a surfer yelling at someone “get a clue!”, for some reason it was funny to me.
Or, “you’re clueless”.

Old phrase: “I was born at night, but not last night.”

Take the red pill, get a clue.

Apparently, they originally wrote the role with the intention of having Will Smith as Neo. I loved the first movie, but everything after that was crap IMO.

If you want to see a good movie, go see the new Ghostbusters. It was a great throwback to 80s nostalgia and spirit. And, the girl in it who plays Egon's granddaughter literally makes the entire movie. Phenomenal actress.
16   WookieMan   @   2021 Dec 23, 7:04am

I just don't watch movies anymore. Really never have. Maybe a show here and there, especially this time of year where there's not much to do after xmas for a week or two. I'll binge an Ozark or Yellowstone season over two days. Otherwise I'm just online reading, dicking around here and listening to music. Obviously doing family stuff and a little work, but for someone that has a decent amount of free time, movies just don't do it for me. Not even older non-sjw movies.

Live music is my favorite above all. Movies and even plays are all fake. A good rock show is fucking amazing. Especially at cool venues. Never in my life did I see myself going to Sandpoint, Idaho to watch a band. It was fucking awesome. The Ryman in Nashville for Swedish metal? Red Rocks. Doobie Brothers in Destin, FL by the beach. That's the shit I like.
17   Tenpoundbass   @   2021 Dec 23, 8:08am

Ya'll remember Iwog tried to hijack the red pill, by saying it was when Men go their won way. Men Going Their Own Way.

He would flame me, when I would say another Liberal got Red Pilled. Didn't he write a book called Red Pilled, about MGTOW?

Yeah, this movie redo, will work about as well as Iwogs book did.

I'd say that the first film was good 'cyberpunk', the culmination of prior movies like "Akira", "Ghost In The Machine", and "Johnny Mnemonic", but in one concept film.

But then, ppl made it out to be some classic, on the order of a Stanley Kubrick or David Lean picture, when it wasn't.
19   richwicks   @   2021 Dec 23, 9:59pm

Ahoy Matey! I've seen the film.

It's so forgettable, convoluted and just plain terrible, that I started to write a synopsis of it, and realized I had to look up what I had forgotten. It's really not worth 2 1/2 hours of your time. It's like a poorly written television show.

If somebody asks, I will write a synopsis. Better I do that than somebody go through this film. I'd give it 1-2 out of 10. It's really terrible.

As bad as #2 and #3 were, I'd say this is significantly worse.

There's really no plot or explanations. For some reason Trinity and Neo were resurrected are kept alive by the machines and put in a new matrix. For some reason Agent Smith becomes Neo's business partner - they developed a video game trilogy called "the Matrix" - this is how Neo deals with his suppressed memories. For some reason Trinity is there as Tiffiny as a wife with 2 shit kids and a husband that doesn't mind her hanging around with a billionaire game developer that is obviously attracted to her.

For some reason they are kept in this artificial construct, there's no reason given, they are kept apart, for no reason. The machines are no longer at war with humanity so, why this is done is never explained.

The matrix that Neo and Trinity live in is populated by both humans and machines, but it's a virtual reality. Humans in it don't realize they are in an artificial reality.

I don't think anybody dies in the film, there doesn't feel like there are any stakes, of course, Trinity realizes her life is fake, the bad guy turns out to be Neo's psychoanalyst, his motivations for doing this to them makes no sense, he's the replacement for the Architect.

The whole culmination of the film is Neo and Trinity recognizing who they originally were and they get back together and meet in the "real world" and return to the matrix.

This is a 2 1/2 hour film. It's mostly fluff. All this film has done is convince me that transwomen aren't writers or directors.

So, it's bad, but it isn't one of those movies that is so bad it's good?

Some of the American Horror Story series manage to step back a little bit and camp quite a bit on all of the diversity, gay and politically correct stuff in self parody. Almost makes it palatable because it doesn't take itself seriously.
