The original Star Wars was magic because they consulted with Joseph Campbell, who had done decades of study on the psychology of myths, and they applied everything he taught them to the original.
The actual shooting of the movie, plot control, and dialogue was given over to Lucas' old Teacher, Irving Kirschner, who worked in Theater and 50s-60s Film for the original trilogy. Lucas gave him a stripped down rough plot, picked the actors, and worked mostly on the SFX.It's why the dialogue blows in 1-3, Lucas can't write it for shit. I've never seen 7-9 because it was wokeshit.
'Raiders of the Lost Ark', where Lucas was the executive producer, provided the framework of Indy's character and the essential story but Larry Kasdan wrote the screenplay and Spielberg directed it.
Don't watch any movies (at least when you have to pay)
