Pay $1.81/gallon for gas
https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/Russia/gasoline_prices/?source=patrick.net

Gas in Russia is cheaper than Gas in Qatar or Bahrain or Saudi Arabia.

Unable to buy $30/lb luxury Italian Cheese, $30/bottle midrange French Wines, expensive German Audio Equipment... what will the Russians do with themselves?

Eat local cheese, drink local beer, and buy the same audio equipment from China that's on Amazon USA

At last count, Russia's GDP dropped about 4% on an annualized basis.

For the average American worker, his wages dropped by about 3.6% after factoring in inflation.

Europe's masses are really getting hurt.

Funny how it is always peasants that suffer from trade sanctions. The elites are doing just fine.

Russia started selling metals to Asia at a 50% loss. Profitability has become "negative," the Russian Steel Association said.

NEGATIVE PROFITABILITY IS STILL PROFITABILITY!!!!!

Who claimed this?

Look, without a link at this point, it should be discarded. This is probably bullshit regardless. Why would Russia sell a commodity at a loss? They can just stockpile it. It's silly. This is conceivable if Russia is getting payback in someway, say, China is paying for the construction of a pipeline or has agreed to an economic partnership of some sort.

Several things are clear:

1. The Fourth Reich f**ked Europe with Energy Policy, they will learn nothing of course.
2. The Russian Army has a long way to go and something - or multiple things - are very wrong with it.
3. NATO means North American Taxes Only, since the US is giving 6-7X the aid to Ukraine that European Members (Most also members of the G-7) combined are giving, in Europe.
4. We don't have a Pro-American Geopolitical Strategy. We should be insisting Europe build LNG ports for US gas right now or be talking about tariffs/reducing NATO commitments.

No. NATO should be in negotiations to end this war, and at the same time building alternative energy sources.

They shouldn't be dependent on a single source, but at the same time, they should be trying to end this stupid war.

The problem is Europe is run by traitors, traitors controlled by the US intelligence agencies. They don't care about their population.
271   Misc   2022 Oct 6, 1:13am

European countries simply don't have the funds to do anything extra. Sure, it would be nice if they could increase their defense spending, throw away some more money to the Ukies and suddenly increase the amount of oil/gas they get from other sources. Nope, they are going to have to nationalize most everything.

They are looking at spending an extra $2 trillion dollars next year for energy. The US spends about $800 billion for our entire defense budget. European prosperity is going under the bus. Some people/industries are simply going to have to do without power coming up fairly soon. (The German elites managed to offload Porshe to gullible people) but for the most part heavy industry is gonna simply shut down in Europe. Bills, lots of bills are simply not going to be paid. Right now, the Europeans have a 10% inflation rate and the ECB discount rate is .75%. Many European countries simply rely on money printing to pay their current bills (Italy I'm looking at you). There is going to be massive amounts of defaults which will destroy their financial system or massive amounts of money printing, which will destroy their financial system.

It will be interesting to see how they determine who gets what and why.

The second is due to elites outsourcing most manufacturing to China.

Russian railways are running low on cassette bearings and have taken 10,000 freight cars out of service, with 200,000 more at risk. This is serious, since Russia is heavily dependent on rail transport.

Twitter is a controlled propaganda site. I don't know why you pay attention to it. CNN may as well have said this.

Also, don't know much about trains, but I am competent on bikes - cassette bearings on what you have on your wheels. I've packed bearings before and I'm pretty certain China makes this sort of stuff. It's not hard to make a metal ball. It does have to be very close to being round.

What I mean is that a ball bearing that isn't very close to being a sphere will quickly wear down to one that is, and leave a bunch of particles of metal that will grind down the rest of the ball bearings.
278   rocketjoe79   2022 Oct 19, 11:36pm

No ball bearing makers (SKF, FAG, Timken, Nachi, etc.) produce their own balls. They buy from other mass producers like NN and Hoover.
Roller bearings are made with various roller shapes. Cylindrical, Spherical or Tapered Roller Bearings for have all been successful for railway.

Russia’s Flagship Oil Falls Further Below Proposed EU Price Cap

BySherry Su and Jack Wittels
November 28, 2022 at 5:07 AM PST

Russian flagship crude oil dipped again on Friday, serving as a reminder of the challenges facing European Union diplomats haggling over a price level at which to cap Moscow’s exports.

The country’s key Urals grade fell to $51.96 a barrel at the Baltic Sea port of Primorsk, according to data provided by Argus Media Ltd., a publisher of physical commodity prices. It fell by a similar amount, and to a similar level, from Novorossiysk in the Black Sea.

Looks like sanctions against FSB-enslaved CCP-allied Russia are solidly anti-inflationary.

Yah not in my experience. A bearing that uses such irregularly shaped balls won’t roll on them properly. If it rolls at all, it will feel like you’ve got a flat tire, but more likely it won’t roll.
It will spin on the shaft.
This is all kinds of bad, especially since bearing steel is much harder than shaft steel. I’ve seen a spun bearing cut through a shaft until it actually wore it in two. That caused a big problem, by the way, and someone almost got killed by falling machinery. Another time I caught a spun bearing when it had worn the shaft to a freaking spindle. No catastrophic failure this time, but only because it was caught in time.
Bearings aren’t something you can accept low quality on.
Not ever.

Yup. I repack my trailer bearings once every other year. A bad bearing will shear an axle off. Happens mostly to boaters, but sometimes campers. People just think this shit maintains itself.... I'm due on my trailer currently...

The Russian airline Aeroflot is no longer providing streaming services for passengers to watch films or listen to music during flights.

According to the airline’s Telegram channel, the service has become inaccessible due to the “refusal of foreign suppliers” on A320, A321, and Boeing 737 models, which account for almost all of the company’s planes.

Aeroflot assured passengers that the lack of streaming services is temporary. “We’re already working on a new, domestic solution, which we’ll be happy to provide for you in the New Year!” read its statement. In the meantime, the company suggested, passengers can take a “December digital detox during their flight.”

Argus: the price of oil from Russia with shipment in Primorsk fell to $43.72 per barrel

12/9/2022, 4:18:30 AM

The cost of the Russian grade Urals oil on Wednesday, December 8, was $43.73 per barrel.

Bloomberg writes about this with reference to the price agency Argus.

“Urals has no buyers on the doorstep right now, so prices have to be cut to attract long-haul buyers,” said Argus analyst Michael Carolan.

According to the author of the article, the change in the price of Russian oil was influenced not so much by the introduction of a price ceiling, but by the withdrawal from the European market.

At the end of November, the cost of Russian export oil Urals fell to $51.96 per barrel.

Many countries don't refrigerate eggs. I didn't refrigerate eggs for a decade in South America.

US eggs are often ancient by the time they get to the supermarket.

Back to Russia, I remember when that spoiled snobby Lesbian Gessen was proclaiming almost a decade ago that Russia would collapse for lack of Luxury Imported European Cheeses, long before the Ukraine Intervention.

Eggs can last a long time (a month, I think) if you don't wash them. The eggs are covered with some secretion from the hen when laid.

The foreign producers of the nominally “Russian” Baikal and Elbrus CPUs have stopped delivering them to Russia.

Kommersant reports that international sanctions have disrupted Russia’s supply of “domestic” CPUs, citing a statement by Maksut Shadayev, Russian minister of digital development.

Shadayev says that 23,000 new computers, servers, and data-storage systems based on Russian-developed microchips were produced in 2022. “We would have had a lot more, if batches of Russian processors that had been ordered and produced had also been delivered,” Shadayev lamented, at a joint State Duma committee meeting on information policy and control.

The minister admits that Russia has no facilities of its own for producing domestic microchips, though it hopes to begin manufacturing CPUs by 2028.

All this will result in is a stronger Russia.

China and Russia are STILL allies. For the time being, Russia is just going to pay through the nose for the technology, but they will get them, if China wants energy, and they do.

Modern cutting edge technology for wafer manufacturing is bleeding edge, HOWEVER, nobody really needs that. A shitty computer chip from 15 years ago will meet your needs. It will consume more power, it will be more expensive to manufacture because the lamba size (size of traces) will be larger, but it will work just fine.

People again don't realize where we are. Your phone puts a Cray supercomputer from 1990 to SHAME. What do you use it for? Making phone calls, watching youtube videos, and sometimes surfing the net and posting to Facebook? You have no idea, NO IDEA, what kind of power the average person has. None. My phone has more storage, more computational power, more abilities than my state of the art workstation did in 2000, and that was $4k back then. Cost me $150.

My pathetic piece of shit phone is more powerful than all the mainframe systems my entire university used - 30,000 students, 4 VAX/VMS machines, 2 main Unix machines, and several workstations. I can run ALL those systems on my phone simultaneously, and it would have more storage, and more IO than all those did.

Yep. Also the contamination with salmonella (or e. coli) does not happen inside the egg (they may just rot at some point), but most of the time it's some outside contamination such a feces or other stuff which lands on the shell, it pretty much never penetrates an intact shell (though possible), so if you're worried you should wash the shells. If there is a salmonella contamination and cracked shells, they spread within a few days anyways. Lastly you can almost always hard boil older eggs to salvage them. Refrigeration doesn't add much shelf life as long as they are stored in a dry, dark, cool place, but it will slow down the spread/growth of bacterial contamination such as salmonella or e. coli

There are preciously few journalists today. I can count the total number of actual journalists working in the west on my fingers. I posted this a while ago, in response to a similar claim of yours. This is a Russian source, but you will keep ignoring these facts as they do not agree with your ideology.

https://english.pravda.ru/world/121658-china_territorial_claims/
Any territorial dispute, but rather, its resolution, is a serious precedent. If China's claim in respect of at least one territory from the list of the "lost" is satisfied, the Chinese machine would be unstoppable. Despite the fact that the Chinese are very pleased to partner with Russia and have always supported Russia in the UN Security Council, in person, on the sidelines, its diplomats supposedly jokingly hint to their Russian colleagues: you must understand that soon you will have to share the Far East? China has more than a billion people, while Russia's vast territory barely has 150 million.

These dangerous trends - demographic, and as a result, geopolitical - must sound scary to the Russian government, but so far it seems that it is happy with the fact that Beijing makes territorial claims only to Seoul and Tokyo. In 2005 Russia had already given China a bounty in the form of 337 square kilometers of land in the area of Big Island (upper Argun River in the Chita region) and two sites in the vicinity of the islands Tarabarov and Big Ussuri near the confluence of the Amur and Ussuri.
