#www.bellin?cat.com As promised I am always out there prowling the world looking for interesting and fascinating stories missed by traditional media outlets. Few of you have heard of Bellgcat. If you are curious, here is a link to look at:

I am a big fan of data mining. In other words, I love systems that obtain massive amounts of data and distill out what is relevant. This can include searching social media, voice communications, and many other sources.
This non-profit organization began life when Russia invaded Crimea in 2014 and brought down the Malaysian Airlines flight with a surface-to-air missile. Right now, the lion's share of their resources are being used to investigate Russian war crimes in Ukraine. They are doing a most remarkable job.
One would expect such a high-technology platform to be the work of a government agency like the US Central Intelligence Agency, US National Security Agency, US Defense Intelligence Agency, British Signals Intelligence Group, Israeli Mossad, etc.
I was stunned to learn that the organization was started and is now led by a man without a major technical background. Its awesome capabilities were developed on "a shoestring budget." Government, please take note!!!

How would you know? They could be doing a terrible job and it is just propoganda? Either way, who cares? Or is this a pump for the site you linked?

Didn't patnet used to have two users, "Bellingham Bob" and "Fritz the Cat"?

I think Elena is confusing 'data mining'(which is often unreliable anyway without constraints due to the lack of questioning the validity of the sources) with 'data invention, disinformation and promulgation ' which is the self professed mission of the intel agencies.

Bellingcat is a an intelligence disinformation outlet. They were instrumental in creating the fake story of Bana al-Abed who was SUPPOSEDLY a 7 year old that was sending out tweets from Aleppo when the city had been bombed so badly, food and water were difficult to obtain. She spoke exclusively in English, when she was contacted by an Arab group she wouldn't speak in Arabic, she wrote EVERY DAY on Twitter as well.

There's no possibility, at all, that if the WATER SYSTEM in Aleppo was working, the Internet was unaffected. Electricity would be variable at best as well. It was a complete lie.

It is the government. This is their front. "The plucky little truth tellers which are mysteriously funded doing Good(TM)".

Most likely Mi6.
