Matt Gaetz is just another dramatic thespian in the political theatre.

I like him!

It's time for him to walk his talk . . .

Matt Gaetz (R-Fl.) explained the story much better during a recent radio interview when he said, “I worked very hard in January to develop a toolkit for House Republicans to use in a productive and positive way. I don’t believe we’ve used those tools as effectively as we should have.”

Gaetz was referring to a deal struck between the House Freedom Caucus and establishment Republicans over Kevin McCarthy’s election as Speaker. Under the tensely-negotiated agreement, McCarthy agreed to lower the threshold for a motion to vacate the chair — a move to force a vote on recalling the Speaker — from five members down to just one.

Now, Florida Representative Gaetz has demanded the House vote on commencing impeachment proceedings against Joe Biden, and vowed “if Speaker McCarthy stands in our way, he may not have the job long.”

I suspect that Gaetz is also spineless, but would be happy to be proven wrong.

REPLACE MCCARTHY NOW

I suspect Gaetz has made the calculation that with a vote, McCarthy would survive because spineless Establishment GOP won't get rid of McCarthy. He's doing nothing of import, which is why they and their donors are fine with McCarthy.

McCarthy has sung a song and has MTG in his camp now.

Sternly Worded Letters! Potential Inquiry that might possibly lead to Impeachment! Maybe, we'll see, we might investigate some more. Action wouldn't be prudent, at this juncture.

It also appears that Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FLA) intends to force the issue of opening an impeachment ASAP against “Joe Biden.” In last January’s maneuvering to seat a new Republican House majority, Mr. Gaetz pushed through an agreement that the process to remove and replace the Speaker of the House could be activated by one vote. Mr. Gaetz reiterated last week that he means business. He’s the one vote.

The argument that Republicans should leave hands-off “Joe Biden” so they can run against the feeble old grifter in 2024 is preposterous because there is no way that the “JB” can possibly run for reelection under any circumstances. It’s just another trip being laid on the American public — and one that illustrates how tragic and dangerous is the absence of an honest news media for challenging such insolent gambits. The President can barely totter into a room now without making some embarrassing pratfall or gaffe. He couldn’t possibly survive a debate, especially with all the new records of his crimes unearthed since the last time around in 2020 when he pretended to know nothing about his son’s business dealings.

I don't like "intends" or "ASAP" or "means business".

I want to SEE IMPEACHMENT HAPPEN NOW.

Everything else is bullshit.

Gaetz has doubts ‘sad and pathetic’ McCarthy will follow through on Biden impeachment

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) expressed skepticism that Speaker Kevin McCarthy is serious about impeaching President Joe Biden and has “no real intent to follow through” on holding the deeply corrupt Democrat accountable.

The Florida Republican appeared on MSNBC where he rejected McCarthy’s assertion that the source of the tension between the two lawmakers was his being upset about an ethics probe into allegations of sex trafficking, a case that was closed by the Biden Justice Department.

Gaetz reacted to McCarthy’s remarks on Wednesday’s edition of “The Beat” with Ari Melber, blasting McCarthy as “a sad and pathetic man who lies to hold on to power” before the subject turned to the speaker’s waffling on the Biden impeachment inquiry that he just announced.

i think it is impossible to get a balanced budget but they can at least cut down on spending to reduce the deficit as a percentage of the budget and the debt as a percentage of GDP

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., the leader of the rebellion that ousted Speaker Kevin McCarthy this week, has long enraged the Beltway establishment.

Gaetz has blazed an unusual path, frequently partnering with House Democrats against powerful special interest groups. He backed regulation to weaken the power of Silicon Valley technology giants and fought to restrict weapons transfers to Ukraine and Saudi Arabia.

In a message posted earlier today, Gaetz floated a sweeping ethics reform package as a key demand moving forward. He offered to partner with Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., on legislation to ban congressional stock trading, institute a twelve-year term limit for lawmakers, and ban lobbyist and PAC donations, in exchange for his support to increase the threshold for removing the Speaker of the House. The motion to vacate change has been demanded by GOP officials concerned about future political volatility.

But industry insiders are pushing back.

Cesar Conda, a former aide to Dick Cheney, whose defense industry lobbying firm Navigators Global helps the Ukrainian government secure American funds, scorned Gaetz as an “arsonist” and endorsed a call for lawmakers to expel the Florida lawmaker from the Republican conference.

Americans for Tax Reform, a dark money group funded in part by Amazon, Google, and Meta, the parent company of Facebook, unveiled a radio and digital advertising campaign against Gaetz yesterday, accusing him of spending "too much time chasing TV cameras."

I think he's on to something - he's fighting against the uniparty, for fuck's sake, so it doesn't matter if he gets a few lucid-thinking Dems along for the ride.

The rage is building. Those who know what to do are taking protective measures against 2024 election thuggery.

We shall indeed see, and it ain't gonna be pretty . . .

Somebody called the whole 212 of demon rats in the House "a few lucid thinkers"? LOL
44   Tenpoundbass   2023 Oct 6, 1:06pm

Oh cry me a river, it could have gone the other way. Had the majority of the Republican Congress NOT been Majority RINOs and were voting for in favor of removing KM. Then 8 RINOs would have voted with the Democrats to keep him. I bet nobody would be crying Crocodile tears then!

Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz has alleged that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is still leading the Democrats from the shadows, with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) serving as “just a frontman.”

During an appearance on Newsmax, Gaetz said Pelosi “still rules with an iron fist.” ...

Gaetz said it is Pelosi’s control of House Democrats which allows them to stay in lockstep.

“By the way, she’s still the one in charge of that conference,” Gaetz continued

“I mean, Hakeem Jeffries is the frontman, but the person who’s really calling the shots among the Democrats is Nancy Pelosi.”

There is no "diversity" within the Dems. The "self identified moderates" religiously toe the Democrat line.

What about those +15 Dems who won in former Republican districts ? They all do whatever Stretch Face Nancy Pelosi wants via Hakeem Jeffries.

💉 On Wednesday, I covered the breaking story about a Montana NIH lab infecting bats with a SARS-like virus from Wuhan back in 2018, right before the pandemic started. I was pleased to see that Representative Matt Gaetz (R-Fl.) picked up the story yesterday, and among other salty comments on his podcast, suggested the NIH’s experiments were “potentially criminal.”

https://twitter.com/WhiteCoatWaste/status/1720055072791392367

Now we’re getting somewhere. More talk like this, please. (And then, of course, action.)

Gaetz also said the new information about the lab would be help lawmakers “root out these inappropriate foreign collaborations.” Yes! Root them out!

Matt is completely qualified for the job, especially from Trump’s point of view, since he is yet another victim of weaponized federal government and false prosecution. The short version is, in 2021 (during the pandemic), while Matt was fiercely fighting Biden’s lockdown and mandate agenda, the FBI quietly opened an investigation into “child sex trafficking” against the Congressman. Then, they un-quietly leaked their investigation to the Washington Post, which ran multiple, breathless front-page stories, all anonymously sourced, about the Gaetz investigation.

Later, once Matt’s reputation was fully soiled, the FBI quietly dropped the investigation. Whoops! Never mind! This time, there was hardly any media coverage. Here’s a Federalist story with more details about the sordid affair.

Yesterday, when President Trump announced Gaetz’s selection, the non-MAGA world went wild. Everybody knows the Senate must confirm Trump’s nominations, and Democrats and corrupt FBI agents pray that Senatorial RINOs will buck Trump and refuse to confirm Representative Gaetz as Attorney General.

That would be a stupid move is all I'll say. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_United_States_Senate_elections

Not good for midterms even if the RINO's don't like it. That incumbent map looks a lot different in 2026 for Senate seats if Republicans cannot play nice in the sandbox with each other. You have Congress and a lame duck POTUS that gives no shits, but does things that will benefit your constituents. Suck it up and approve Matt when the time comes.

The risk is higher you get tossed out of the senate come election time. I would just roll out the red carpet for Trump appointees even if you dislike the people he's selecting.

I suspect Gaetz may not become the Attorney General, but I am willing to bet he'll be in the Trump admin like as a close advisor.

Gaetz don't need the money as he already comes from a family that is worth at least a $30 million, and he sold a book and made money off of it, and also made money off of real estate sales.

I don’t see how he won’t get through. Only way is if enough RINO’s tuck dick and don’t approve.

I technically am not the biggest fan of his. But if you know attorneys you have to be an ass hole. I guess what I’m saying no politics involved I wouldn’t see being a friend with him and he’s roughly my age.

Outside of the DUI I don’t see or hear anything besides senators just not liking him. If he wasn’t well known I doubt people would approach him in public. He’s the guy your friends are friends with and you roll your eyes when he shows up.

Murkowski and Collins already publicly oppose him. Assuming 53 Republicans, we only have to lose two more. Supposedly utahs new senator is milquetoast in the mold of Romney.

Yes absolutely. I want a nice guy drafting my living trust and family planning documents. For a criminal case, I want a competitive guy who’s outwardly polite but will use any advantage he can find. For a civil case I want the biggest shark in the world advocating my case.

For a person leading the prosecution of Deep State agents, is there anybody better than someone who had Federal lawfare used against them????
