Word in Sac was always that Awesome and Kamala HATED each other, not that that matters to power-mad pathological egotists.
Some rando on the net laid out the scenario that they have lost confidence in Kamala's ability to deliver, so they actually want her out first. Somehow. Then Biden appoints Newsom as VP, becomes incapacitated with his 6th bout of COVID and resigns, leaving Newsom to run the show with his own pick as VP, likely the Brown Georgia Butterball to lend the requisite diversity.
The precedent is the Nixon/Agnew/Ford shenanigans in '73.

Even if it were true, it would just pass rapidly to the new, improved, younger Nancy avatar, and nothing will change.
I'll believe it when I see it. However, it would be interesting what they fake as the reason for the Biden actors stepping down. Guess they are panicing LOL with that last 10 percent of approval ratings slipping through their fingers. Do I hear the dread sound of sloshing cankles slouching toward Bethlehem?
I think they already did this once when Biden Actor reputedly went into the hospital for a colonoscopy. One of the actors appeared perfectly dressed that early afternoon to tell everybody his colonoscopy went well. That was another 'fake Biden' indicator because colonoscopy with sedation take a bit to prepare for and get over afterward, he wouldn't have been prancing around for a publicity session the same afternoon.

This is on purpose. Dems want to “rescue” the midterms from party Annihilation by removing the designated Scape Goat and installing a wonderfully diverse replacement. You’ll know that she has agreed to step down and not run in 2024 by the VP they pick to replace her (this is another reason it must be done BEFORE midterms(a GOP dominated Senate wouldn’t confirm their chosen guy)).
If it’s some nobody, they’ll actually run Kamala in 2024. But if it’s their last great hope Gavin Newscum, they’ll definitely be running him instead of her in 2024. They’ll appeal to emotions as usual, and Gavin can still get some panties wet so they’ll get the women vote. We might all hate Newscum now, and think he’s the second coming of Adolph Hitler, but give it time and relentless promotion of the corporate media, and things could change. He is pretty slick, after all! And they’ve definitely been grooming him (pun on purpose) for this role for years.
Newsom has been on a publicity streak lately, with a frenetic “notice me!” sort of urgency. First running ads in Florida to encourage residents to move to California “for the freedoms.” And then running ads in Texas attacking their governor. All while doing a grand tour of virtue signaling laws about gun control and abortion.
He’s making himself visible so his appointment as VP looks natural to the Democrats.
