Maybe he wants to give them a dose of their own medicine by turning twitter into a black box they cannot see into from the outside. Right now they blame elon for everything, but if he exits and just forces the new leader to do his bidding, then it becomes somewhat more difficult for npc media to attack his actions.

If he hadn’t just pissed off the free-speech contingent with yesterday’s announced no-link-to-competitors policy (apparently now rescinded) the results may have been in favor of his staying. So it looks like it was his goal to “humbly” step down as “the people have spoken” but as pointed out in the OP he had already said he’d do that.

I think modern high stock prices are a thing, because so much and so many of the companies on the stock market, don't actually produce anything. They don't have to layout for raw materials, and other production costs. Just add and subtract idiots in cubicle as needed. You can't create $60,000 battery operated cars, and expect the price of the stock to go through the roof indefinitely, without people willing to pay more for those cars as investors demand more returns. You can't just lay off a few thousand schmucks in a cubicle to make up the difference.

The new incentives will certainly help Tesla's bottom line next year, but are messing up short term demand right now.

Bottom Line - Elon has some problems that are not going away any time soon and will most likely get much worse before they get better
1) He said last month that he plans on finding someone to run Twitter after he does some house cleaning.
2)Could he be trying to lure more bots out into the open so he can clean them out.
3)The fact that Twitter has spent a few years culling out the sane conservative voices, the vote probably accurately reflects the Conservative/Liberal ratio still at Twitter.
4)If there are more Liberals than Conservatives at Twitter, then his stake in his 44 billion dollar investment lies in catering to that Majority.
5)Why didn't he wait until he reinstated all of the conservative voices that has been silenced before conducting this poll.
