Looks like it's for 2020. We didn't have our dependent yet while filing jointly, as my oldest is claimed by his mom. Otherwise we likely stayed below that 500k cap, depending on the stock gains/losses for the year. You're welcome

Our family income is around $200K. We get $500. Doesn't even cover inflation. They should have used it on infrastructure or something. Or maybe just lower the tax rate. Bottom line this is just another "Steal from the 'rich' give to the poor" scheme.

Yes, that actually causes inflation because it puts money into hands that would otherwise not have it, and most likely spend it on basic goods and services….. FGN!

I got a card in the mail yesterday. It was sent to my address in Texas and it wasn't forwarded - CA apparently knows I'm here now.

I'm not going to spend it though b/c I left CA in September and am going to claim TX residency from that date. If I spend it they might try to claim more in taxes than what's on the stupid card.

Then again, it doesn't expire for a few years so maybe I'll just let it sit. ;)

Confirmed, looked up nearest no-fee atm, less than a half a mile away, and got the full amount as cash. No hassle. Done.

Ok I looked at my banking history and found it. The MCT refund was issued on November 8th, direct deposited (probably since we’d used that to pay taxes and get refunds from California). $750!

You only get a direct deposit if you had a state refund. We always have to pay a little so we don't have a bank registered for direct deposit from California.REpro says

Read the fine print, it says if you don't want the card they will send you a check in 2 to 3 months.
