I work in a fab...they are mini-cities. Lots of drama. I don't think Intel has their own security team.

Market is definitely tight. Looking for a second job as my current one seems to prefer I do less than I have been. A resume that would have easily gotten me good work five years ago, seems to barely get any bites now days.

In the long run...you are self-employed. No one will ever pay you what you are worth. You are priceless, NuttBoxer :)

Current company sets the bar pretty low on a number of fronts, but pay is not one of them. That, and the fact that I get to automate is the only reason I stay. Now if I can just find a second gig to fill out the other four hours of the day...

And yes, I know I'm way late to the game, and many people have the two programming jobs at once. Better late than never...

Just saw on CNBC that Ebay is laying off 9% of its full time workforce.

Google recently annouced layoffs. Are the techs doing this to ensure earnings projections continue steadily upward ?

Perhaps its a reaction to them not meeting expectations for earnings for Oct-Dec 2023 ?
