In 2021 102,000 people died from drug overdose (poisoning) , 47,000 in car accidents, and only in gun-related homicides 21,000.

The media establishment (e.g. NPR) focuses only on the gun-related topics and not on the most accurate issues. This behavior shows that the corporate media are adversaries to the nation.

Drug overdose will kill users.
Car accidents are inevitable. We cannot live without cars.
Gun-homicides can be prevented if there are no guns.

How are these equivalent?

And knife homicides can be prevented if we have no knifes. Get rid of rocks and rock murder will be history.

indc you seem to argue that cars are necessary, therefore we must accept the collateral damage that they bring.

I would argue that guns are also necessary and therefore we must accept that some people will use guns to commit crimes. There are evil people from whom we need to defend ourselves. For example, in case of a home invasion, are guns not necessary so that the homeowner can protect himself and his family?

Do you have any statistics on how many homicides happen because of knifes. Or rocks?

I agree. My concern always is with AR's. If someone can give statistics separating AR and handguns I would accept it.

No. But there would be a lot more knife and rock murders if we had no guns 'cause murderers are going to murder.

Another little known factoid from the CDC: 12,000 people a year die from falling down stairs.

I thought that only happened on Alfred Hitchcock, Twilight Zone, etc.

As for myself, I am not going to live in a place where I have to climb stairs, no thanks.

Off the subject; how many guys are nagged to death?
