I don't wear socks with them, but I'm 90% in sandals outside of work. Broken heel doesn't go away. Always pain. So I wear sandals even in the winter if the snow is 1-2" or less. It's just easy too and the padding helps without having to dick with shoes. I get not liking looking at feet and toes, I think they're gross myself. It's just easy and relieves pain for me.

I'd say more "practical" than either of those descriptions. With a heel strap and (added) glued in heel insert, I'm now in sandals 90% of the time. Sockless when sailing or on the sandy beach; with socks in colder weather or when I want a little more chafing protection.

Yeah, sandals are just easy. I would say it's nerdy, though that depends on the sandals. Not gay though. I can't do the sock thing though. We go from hot and humid in the summer #wetbulb to basically a no humidity desert climate in the winter in IL. My feet get all dried up, so that's generally when I start wearing shoes and socks if there's snow on the ground.

There are shoes that look gay. Person may or may not be gay, but I'd never be caught wearing them. Basketball shoes are super gay in my mind. People pay thousands for a shoe you can get for $50. That's gay. I suppose people flip them for a profit, but it's fucking shoes. Flip a house or a car and make 5, 6, 7 figures on it. Maybe we need a retarded human thread....?
