Gen-X was the first generation born after the Pill. Consequently, we are the smallest generation, sandwiched between Boomers and Gen-y (fuck the boomers' redesignation of their children as "millennials" - this is just a cop to glorify their collective crotch-fruit).

The Boomer/Gen-y generations continually fucked up menswear. In the 'naughties, shoes were too wide, and shirts were pretty large and flowing. I had to wear extra big socks to fit into these cavernously wide shoes.

Now, 20 years later, all pants are styled for skinny-fags. The seat of dress pants is a full 2 inches below what it used to be, and the "style" is floods, as opposed to a nice break at the shoe. Shirt sleeves are a full 2 inches shorter, etc.

I built a really nice wardrobe from the 90's though the 'naughties. I'm glad I did - nothing fits me anymore, and I'm not fat. I'll have to keep my current wardrobe until I retire, because by the time gen-y gets older, thicker, and fatter, I'll be out to pasture.

While other kids were into zipper parachute pants and members only jackets, I was wearing the painter pants, overalls, Levis(when they were cool), flannel shirts and t-shirts. Not a nary spin on my head, or a move did I bust. I wasn't into break dancing or freestyle music. I do miss the Nike and Reboks from the 80's. They were just plain white leather. A more sensible looking sneaker. Sneakers today looks like colorful boombox spaceship thingy. I don't get the attraction to modern sneakers.
