EVERYBODY KNOWS WW2 WAS PROVOKED BY POLAND! IF THEY HAD GOOD REASONABLE CZECHOSLOVAKIAN ATTITUDE ABOUT THINGS NO WAR WOULD HAVE HAPPENED!!!!!

I see that the ‘Winston Churchill wanted to use poison gas on colonial subjects’ conspiracy;
Is once again making the rounds on the internet.
It’s a ridiculous assertion based on not reading the full relevant quotation written by Churchill.
Churchill was talking about using tear gas (lachrymatory gas) against rioters - which the police still use today.
The full departmental minute of the War Office on the 12th May 1919:
"It is sheer affectation to lacerate a man with the poisonous fragment of a bursting shell and to boggle at making his eyes water by means of lachrymatory gas. I am strongly in favour of using poisoned gas against uncivilised tribes. The moral effect should be so good that the loss of life should be reduced to a minimum. It is not necessary to use only the most deadly gasses: gasses can be used which cause great inconvenience and would spread a lively terror and yet would leave no serious permanent effects on most of those affected."
If you see someone peddling the ‘poisonous gas’ drivel, feel free to share this post with them.

Churchill was a backbencher, despised by most including many fellow Tories.
Churchill had NO role in British policy or budgets in the 1930s. His influence was limited to making speeches from the backbench and a newspaper column.
Churchil was not allowed in any Government until AFTER Poland was invaded in September 1939. Then he was only in charge of the Navy (Admiralty), not the Military generally.
Churchill was not Prime Minister until AFTER Dunkirk when Chamberlain was forced to resign after a slew of disasters and mismanagement, not least the outrageous violation of the Treaty at Munich when the liar Hitler signed a document swearing that Germany would ONLY take the Sudentenland, but soon annexed the entirety of Czechoslovakia within weeks.
The idea that Churchill caused WW2 is like blaming Senator Rand Paul for the Deep State.
